AAll you get is grisle for meat wise, mostly fat, ankkes, necks, ribs, hips, with mest scraps, but over all... all fat/bones.
So protien/tripe and organs, comes from chicken, turkey, duck, goose, venison, rabbits.. but like isaid butchers give you the crap, they cant use. I find it worth plugging 2freezers ina shed all year. Ones fat, bones,, organs... hides. I package it now like any hunter paper wraps there meat with meatwrap.

You will change you ways of storing, feeding, and diet type. Till you find what works.

If there coats lacking shine, or dog energy ad more fat, organs.

i feed guinea pigs once a month. the snake websites do make it easy but you have to buy in bulk. i just ordered 25 (15 XXXXL and 10 L) guinea pigs for a $100.

did rabbits for dog food in hutches, now do in colonies. way easier. mesh pen, mesh floor. big or small as you want. big one for does and young, small for bucks. i move it around the yard for new grass. keep water dish in warm weather, snow in cold. other than grass they only get hay and kitchen fruits and veggie scraps. i don't do enough to totally supplement the dogs, maybe this year. a couple of boxes in the pens for kindling and shelter. no feeding everyday as a bale lasts a good few weeks and only watering in good weather. give it a try. it sure made my life easier.

Is there anybody on here currently farming rabbits for their dogs?? I'm seriously considering doing it and I only plan on feeding the dogs whole rabbits about once a week, the rest of the week they'll be getting other sources of meat. I would be wanting to feed the whole rabbit since I don't know how to butcher and clean it. Currently, is there anybody else that feeds whole rabbit (not butchered)?? Thanks.

I got a buddy that was feeding his whole rabbits, he'd let the dogs catch their own too

I mean, he was farming and raising the rabbits. When comes time for he'd put a dog in backyard, drop in a live rabbit and let dog get his own food

Thanks cajun. Besides his normal worming routine, do you know if he does anything else to prevent anything that may come with feeding them whole? The reason I ask is because anybody I've spoke to that has fed whole rabbits, they were gutted and cleaned. They were bought from a whole animal supply company. And I've read this thread but all this info was a few years old so I was looking for RECENT experience, if possible.

No he doesn't do anything other than that. He's what I like to call a minimalist lol

I doubted I'd need anything else just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Sure appreciate it!

treez.. go to homesteadingtoday.com there is a rabbit section and people there that raise them for dog food and raise guinea pigs also. the guinea pigs take a month longer to have their babies but they come out running fur and all unlike rabbits and are less prone to disease. i raised rabbits about 5 years ago and gonna get back into it and considering raising the guinea pigs also and just let em free range around the barn

Good deal, thanks alot JLusk! I considered guineas too and figured if the rabbits went well then I'd grab a few guineas also. I'm going to check out that website, much appreciated!

I figure this local buisness here is worth looking at for those interested in this topic. She will school the shit out of you on raw diets. Very smart lady and she ships all over last I knew.
