Thanks for the comments, Sam and Molly were born within months of each other Sam is 3 and a 1/2 and molly is just 4yrs. I think Sam has a natural affinity with animals He never ever poked or teased Molly, they seem to have respected each other from day one. Molly is incredibly gentle with Him as you can see, no sudden movements etc.

Shes very different with me, she seems to understand peoples limits. shes not a house dog either, though she does sleep in the washroom at night and gets a lot of walks etc she's a very happy dog. And Sam is a very happy boy.

That's got to be the thinnest chain I have seen on a Pit.So how does your Dog react when strangers come around while your Son is there? Good looking Dog by the way.

I'm not sure what metal that chain is made of my bro is in the steel fabrication business, He gave me the chain. She has bent both ends [clips] completely straight shes very powerful for her size, however she can pull hard on that chain it holds up well, there is a heavy d ring that goes through the wall the chain is attached to. when im in the yard I let her off the chain, she makes no attempt to leave
If my boy was under threat I have no reason to believe that she would not protect Him, Im quite sure she would! but hopefully there will never be a need for that.

I do think a new chain is needed, but the street is quite close to the back yard so a heavy chain is not a good look in my case.
