No problem realpits...I think its a neat program. Its cool to do your own dogs. What's even cooler than that....you can take your dog...pair him or her up with another dog and do a fantasy/test breeding and get those same results of how inbred/linebred the pups will be off that litter or line. Aswell as the genetic % of each dog in the ped that influences your pup. I will copy and paste my pups link to his ped on there in the thread below. Give me a sec. You can click on any dog in history and see all those same results. You would be surprised at how many famous or Ch dogs are considered scatterbred. Shit...Chinaman himself was only like 14% linebred if I recall.

This will give you a idea of what I'm talking about. You can select 4 Gen ped all the way to a 15 Gen ped in the drop box. Or select any fog in the ped and see his statistics. Under the statistics box in the top right hand corner with each dogs % of influence on my pup Hammer..it sats Wrights coefficient % in light blue. That's the % of inbreeding/line breeding of Hammer. It changes depending on the number of generations you select to go back to. Like in 10 Gen he is 79%. And like I said...anything over 20% is linebred/inbred. 79% would be heavy. Hope this helps y'all. I think its cool and nifty. Could help in breeding programs if your trying to reseerect or go back to some old blood in your ped and recover those traits or possibility or recovering them.

I have to agree with Dream Pits. I think many judge breedings without the proper ability or experience to seam things together, or understand a seam or a scheme and the advantages of its aspects. Remember that a tight knit might not always cause a proper "nick", yet a nick often STARTS a long lived lineage of some certain scheme.

See that point you touched on Dream* is why Tudors, Carver and couple others felt to many were hung up on pedigrees. To them the masses didnt know game let alone how to breed a good dog, figured em most to be ridin on coat tails. That and most all of the stuff that goes back to dibo all breeds the same anyway (as was their view of it at that time).

Jeep by some folks is an outcross. Loposay is game colby need not forget. Its those genetics and traits he harbored and kept true. Jeep is a Colby, Boudreaux X but really by family breeder standards he is scattered.

It comes down to just that how many times alike family members are in each dogs make up thus pedigree.. your format if true.

Scatterbred: ..
http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=458848

EXAMPLE: because many times breeders have built on one dog from a select gene pool .. folks should really pay attention. BLind billy is what boudreaux is built on primarily. and most of the make up of Eli. Billy was sired by Dibo into Minnie his neice and half sister by way of Pete X bambi. Scrub sire to eli was 5 X father daughter bred blind billy begining with a lightner and (dibo by relation) Ritchesons X. Do you realize how inbred and linebred that is just with Billy, and Scrub with Eli being almost 9/10 pure dibo. The boudreaux family of dogs has went far and wide and folks like carver heavy breeding eli or bullyson blood creating other sub strains all down from the same TIGHT gene pool. Much like Colby and Feeley built on Paddy and derived a family of dogs. Colby should be used as an out for all breeders because it is the oirginal source of bulldog blood and will not tarnish rather refreshin.. So the Jeep breeding to me just meant he should've been taken back into BOudreaux or loposay and kept tight and lined out, This is why the JEep redboy X for the longest time was so hot. redboy is loposay.

Outcrossing true outcrossing can be dangerous and scatter your dogs, horses, etc genetics to the wind. One mustang can ruin an ENTIRE stock for ever.. So its important to know you have dogs that breed true. Why do you think Heinzl, Colby,Mason, Clouse,Boudreaux, Corvino, etc.. only used other strains that formed side by side from same source or sub strains off of their strain as outs? Primarily?? Thats how safe outcrossing for a family strain is done. Look how strong Boudreaux or Patrick or Hammonds still is in the right hands? Or any other strain or sub strain red boy, jeep, Banjo ........

Can't really go wrong with either OFRN or Colby....back to basics of the breed (Old Family)
Gotta love that Corvino;)

Corvino isn't from Colby. 2 reason why I wouldn't feed a Colby dog today.1. They were all registered and bred to standard of the AST since 1936.2. Most of the dogs are based off Colby's Pincher who was over 70+ lbs.Based off John Calvin's Turk who was killed by Con Feeley's Jim in over 4 hrs. in Hammond IN.Yes, the same Con Feeley who's dog Feeley's Rowdy killed Galvin's Pup in over 2 hrs.I'll go with history's real winners of the past and stayed APBT.Took place in the late 1800's and wrote about in 1916 Dog Fancier.

I certainly didn't mean to make it appear as though Corvino was from Colby in my reply. I'm an OFRN and Corvino fan!

I know who you are, and its not to hard to tell these days.
Nobody is forcing anyone to feed any line of dogs. People decide based on thir own opinions. Nothing new there either.
The fact that a standard was based off a Colby dog is nothing new either. Anyone who has went back through history can tell you that. We appreceiate the info, but please spare the bias views that are shots in the dark....
This post kinda lacks class in my eyes and nobody is here knockin your stuff, so come on and keep it real!

Foundation knows whats up.. Good to see you - you been spending more time on here these days??
I abandoned ship on thae other ship.

I AM AMAZED AT HOW IGNORANT SUM PEOPLE ARE. DO more research
before posting. Colbys primo was hand pick by the powers that be, after visiting a few of the best AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER breeders yards in the USA- AS WHAT A WELL BREAD AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER SHOULD LOOK LIKE. NOW, THE AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER APPEARANCE HAS CHANGED TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT THEY NO LONGER LOOK LIKE A AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER. WHICH HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COLBY AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER.

PS. Colbys pincher was 70lbs chain weight, 56lbs match weight. He won 50 battles. 24 were certified . He was open to the world and no other dog on this planet could beat him. Any dog that stayed 40min in the pit with Colbys pincher was of no use for anything if it even survived.HE IS THE GREATEST MATCH DOG THAT EVER LIVED. ALSO HE PRODUCED SOME OF THE OTHER GREATEST MATCH DOGS THAT HAVE EVER LIVED.

we can only dream of ever having an apbt that as good as colbys pincher. He lived to be about 15years old and died a natural death. And i will quote the mr colby word with this- and after he died he went where all good fighting dogs go.......

a dog that was matched at 56lbs and kept at 70 on the chain was obviously kept hog fat. also I would have to question the level of competition back then at 50 battles maybe this was before the days of the hard mouth destroyers

17. mccoypitbulls

mccoypitbulls Underdog

Maybe he WAS a hard mouth destroyer, and for a 70lb dog to drop roughly 14 lbs is not a magic trick by any means.

Colbys Pincher was a very special in alot of ways. Out of the Pit He was gentle, He would play with other dogs with the playfulness of a puppy provided he wasn't challenged. He loved to eat and sleep, But He was a Fierce Worker when being Whipped into shape for a match. He had Pit Smarts And The Ability to Punish His Opponents was Rarely seen. He was a Vicious Nose and Throat Fighter. He won His Master Mr Colby So Much Fame and Fortune that his reward was to eat like a King, Sleep on a soft bed, Mate with the finest bitches and so on......His offspring were valued by buyers like Gold. Hog Fat ? Lol !!! Blessed with the best Because He was The Best. Pincher Ped ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [5650] :: COLBY'S PINCHER (24XW)
