what am I lost about? I would like to know I am always willing to learn.

I don't doubt he was one of the greatest of his era. I feel keeping a 56lb match weight dog that much above his pit weight isn't the best choice but to each there own. for him to be matched that much he would have to be in a constant keep I would believe maybe until later in life? do you believe that the dogs of the 60s 70s and 80s were worse as far as ability and finish than the dogs at the turn of the century?

again not arguing just interested in the history of these dogs

,What i mean is Simply, Colby"s Pincher is according to History in the USA, Has the Best Match Record in Existence. Having said that, There are So many more Apbt's in Existence today along with Nutrition, Steroids, ect I dont believe that that could be Accomplished Today. Plus who wants to go to Prison for Matching Dogs on Record in this day and time. Note;Go to Pinchers ped and Click Offspring just to get a idea of how many dogs he produced. Finally, Colby Dogs Were Raised In The Pit 4 the Pit.

I highly doubt any on here were alive to see or witness Pinscher in the flesh. He could have been as good as was mentioned or won as many as mentioned.
What worries me about his record is that to win 24 official shows should mean 24 keeps @ least (not counting possible forfeits he may have picked up). And if each keep was just a minimum of 6 weeks then thats 144 weeks of hard work getting him ready. Not to mention maybe @ least another 6 weeks of rest and recovery between the matches which would be around 132 weeks , giving u a total of 276 weeks of keep and rest. Now thats over 5 yrs of constant work, match and rest. Thats like on average 1 match every 2mnths. I think thats a bit excessive and highly unlikely for a 5 yr period. Unlikely but not impossible.

It is the History we have on hand. Note 1890s Galvins Pup wasa 10xw 9 of those fights said to have never made a turn doing those matchs on record. This was 1890. Pincher was born 12-31-1896 . So the Competition was out there, Dog Men Scoured the Planet tryn 2 find a Dog of any breed that could beat Pincher - Only to lose there Money and most of the time, There Dogs.

Corvettedex, Pinscher, must have been an excellent dog, I honestly believe so. I may be wrong in doubting that he won 24 matches (as I believe more likely it was matches and rolls counted together) , but it maybe I doubt it because I am trying to fit in my own logic regarding what it takes to prepare for a match, and what a match takes out of a dog, forgetting that things were done differently back then. Thats why I said unlikely but not impossible. Because maybe in a less simpler time a dog required less recuperation from all that goes into a keep and a match. Modern isnt always better and we may have made things worse with all the additives added to a keep.
So know that I in no way am saying Pinscher wasnt the great dog claimed, but I will remain sceptical about his number of wins being all matches.

In my honest opinion Colby's Pincher Was and is The Greatest Apbt that has ever walked on the face of this earth. In every way. Temperament, Gameness, Producer, ect. God just blessed this Dog in every way. He is Worthy of being Remembered and discussed in any Century.

Lol. If u say its true. The keep for 50 matches alone, with a minimum keep of 6 weeks, would have been 300 weeks and with a minimum of 6 weeks recovery time add another 288 weeks giving u a minimum of 588 weeks of keep, match and recover, thats 11yrs of continuous work and matching. When did this dog have time to stand on 70lbs and even get a chance to breed as he didnt start matching @ 1mnth old? Na man I call 50 wins exactly what it is, bs! Colby dogs were used successfully back in the day by many and became the base of many good lines, but even tho Colby put out an immeasurable number of good and great dogs , he was still seen by his peers of his time as a peddler. Now peddlers are known to embellish the truth a lil. 24 I doubt, but 50 I call BS!

Lol. Good one. Certified by whom? If certified it means recorded, so can u name the 24 oponents and their owners/handlers?
I dont think anyone is doubting that the dog was a good one, possibly a great one, but come on man, any sensible person would doubt 24 keeps were done on him, let alone 50.
