It was not you at all. Some seem to be stuck on trying to discredit the forefathers as if they are upset over the correct history. They act like time has moved on and things are better now.. Half of the folks wouldnt even be able to survive back then with out the walmark or feed store. Simply put.

Shit does get old, but we have the ammo to provide.
It becomes clear quick who knows their stuff and who dont!!

mccoypitbulls!! .. .yes folks can only take so much... so been on here more a lil lately see if anything new has surfaced.

I can't believe folks get so bent out of shape and take things out of context like they do. ... a genetic comparison of family breeders Boudreaux and Colby hardly calls for pissin on someones family of dogs and making an attempt to call folks out on lack of knowledge if they disagree. Look Boudreaux built a family off of one dog primarily just like Colby built of Primarily one dog but like Boudreaux 2 or 3 other dogs and well inbred stock off them dogs were bred in time to time as outs for diversity but in a family breeding of good standing they all have to come from the same source and share relatives. Like Dream said, many times you see a ped and think its scattered by lookin at the 4 or maybe even the 7 but then when you read on you find 4 strains that developed from inbreeding dibo, yellow, or any other significant dog; as tight as they could in their own direction. Most foreign dogs are heavily outcrossed but if you watch theyre are lines they hold and keep as true as possible. :) No different than a good lot in the states.

I dont know how the thread got off topic but I wouldnt say Colbys Pincher was the greatest of all time..Dibo is and always will be to me the biggest impact dog on this breed the APBT..You look around and you see families that came off Dibo and they still kickin ass..That blood is still relevant..How relevant is Colby these days?

  7. maydogs

    maydogs Pup

Im not saying pincher was the greatest dog ever but there would be no dibo without pincher. If u look at all 8 dogs in the third generation of dibos ped corvinos gimp, corvinos goldie, corvinos shorty, chicago dolly, browns brindle spike, browns blond scratch, ritchenson geep and hubbards cissy all there peds have pincher blood in them every single one. So whatever impact dibo had pincher is a part of that.

True at that Maydogs. And I am surely not knocking what the Colby family did for this breed..I just dont see any other dog that has been as relevant to this breed as Dibo has been.

Earl would take dogs from anyone if he thought they were good.Every one know that.Everything going to go back to corvino and colby..But Dibo was Dibo and what he was and did is in the history books. He was and is the best still .I mean really if we gone go this route where did JP Colby get gis stock from? Cause fuck we have to consider them also.

The conventional Colby dog of today has been unkempt in regard to what it once was. But there is a hidden counterpoint to that fact.
Remember that the top side of a popular dog, Jeep, was Colby. They were dogs akin and from a Mr. Gardiner (pronounced Gar dee nay) in Canada. There were also huge amounts of dogs on the Carver yard, yet they were not accounted for in how he wrote them up as being bred. He got many dogs from the likes of E. Crenshaw, Shivar, Loposay, Hinajosa of Mexico and Dr. Damm, also of Mexico.
We seem to lean on and rest upon the fraud we see and accept it. Yet given these facts, there is another reality to how much Colby is really out there.
Before anyone jumps funny, I have personally heard Maurice talk about these things. Then he would laugh. All a game to him. Gamesmanship. He just flatly didn't give a damn if you knew or didn't know.
Some of you have heard the old expression: "A dog just isn't a real dog unless it has some Colby in it." Guess who said that. Maurice Carver.
He housed Crenshaw's Snow, Stu Fowler and many others on his yard for many years. What? You don't see them on breedings? He never bred such dogs? Please. Stompanato, Art's Missy and many other dogs of renown had much hidden Colby in them.
Some one pointed out that the conventionally seen Colby dog of today isn't doing much. Whichever poster made that comment is correct for the most part. But.....It doesn't take away the hidden reality that there is much more of it in dogs today than will ever meet the eye. And many of THOSE dogs ARE doing something.
I don't know what the hell this has to do with scatterbred, but the thread veered this way, so I thought a comment as to the hidden reality was necessary and relevant.
