Scratchin problem

Alright my merle pup is having a huge problem with scratching around her stomach and she does it nonstop. She scratches so hard that she whine's and gets cabs from it. Its been going on for about 3 weeks i gave her benydril and that doesnt help i went to pet store and got some spray on stuff to stop the itching. I got her on nuto max if that makes a difference. I dont really have the money right now to take her to the vet so i would like to know any other kind of thing i can do. And what is the problem with her.

 

Yeah i went to the pet store and got some stuff that is supposed to stop it but it really hasnt stoped. I thought it might have been the flea shampoo that i washed her with but nope its not that because i went and bought her some differnt kinda shampoo that she wont have no allergic reaction to but it didnt help. I know it cant be fleas. Should i change her food.

 

Do you got a link to that kinda food. The spray on stuff that i got is called "Anti-itch spray".

 

There are numerous possibilities, what’s changed since the itching started? Any new chemicals sprayed on yard, change in diet, new detergent in the house, etc.

 

Hey, I'm having the same problem with my guy, (who also happens to be merle). I actually have two problems: The one you mentioned, which seems to cause scabs and bald patches, and sores/scabs on his belly that get out of hand if I don't use that anti-itch spray you mentioned, ("Pet Relief" Anti-Itch Spray).

If it is, it can't be contagious because my female has never picked-up a lick of it.

No changes in his environment---no food changes---good expensive chow, (even though my last guy ate junk and lived to be about 15/16 and never had any skin issues).

I tried a fungicide spray---nothing.

Did you say you tried a flea bath? Because that was my next thought.

How about if we try a bath with one of those medicated shampoos??

 

How old is your dog and Luigi, how old is your dog? It very well could be food allergies that you havent noticed yet if they are still a young pup. As texasbulldogs said, you need to figure out what has changed since it started and go from there.

 

Nothing has changed at all thats what i dont get really.

Thinking about it now i did change her food about 3 weeks ago to the purple nutro max bag. So i guess i should change that shouldnt i.

Wow, it's so weird that I finally found someone else with this bizarre problem and it happens to be another merle.

Maybe we're being punished for having merles.

I've been using a duck & potato food, (Wellness, I think), because my female has food allergies. But he has been on it for quite a while.

 

Well ive been paying 40$ for a big bag of nutro max hell for that type of money my dog should be shitting out gold. And she certainly shouldnt be getting allergeis from it.

I've tried other stuff---Innova/Evo, Nutro---you name it. This seemed to be the only thing that agreed with both of them.

Maybe we should find a merle forum.
