There is nothing you can do except put the dog on anti-seizure medicine. If you could figure out a cure you would be a very wealthy person as there is no cure in humans either. Just got to deal with them. As tough as it may be to do, I would reccommend euthanizing the dog and starting over with another dog. Good Luck.

I agree with Benethere. And you don't want that in your gene pool if you can avoid it. JMO

2 weeks after CH my dog she started to seizure...
I ALSO HAD BIG PLANS FOR THIS BITCH...

But I got her regulated on feno and hasn't had a seizure since that day...
YES I FIXED HER AND SHE IS NOW THE FAMILY PET!

Putting her down is dumb.. Unless that's all she was for is a brood bitch.. My dog can still do every thing she was bred for except for reproduceIng ..

I understand that SOME ppl would drop it but most vets wont plug a dog with seizures unless its un controllable .. JMO

This may not apply at all, however, distemper does the same thing and they can get it at any age if shots were faulty etc. Epilepsy can be controlled, in most cases, with meds. However, some environmental poisons can have the same effect. I had some pups seize from piperazine(back when we used that many years ago) and a vet told me to put them down. I didnt and they got over it and grew up just fine and never seized again. Same with spray from an orchard(had a stud dog that had been kept chained in an orchard by his previous owner) and of course, the dog not getting the right puppy shots and then exposed later( purchased from a now deceased very famous breeder). A lot of breeders never used to vaccinate their pups. That is not something I would skip, but you never know how people are.

I have and this happen with two dogs in the past. While meds did help for s little while, it came to a point that it didn't work anymore. They both had to be put down.

I had a friend who watched her dog suffer for 7 years dog had epilepsy and was on medication dog eventually died from a seizure if they are bad enough and the dog is in constant agony I would put the dog down as that's no life for a dog to live. I def wouldn't breed the dog so having it fixed should be priority you don't want that crap passed along good luck with the dog.

  10. if i were you i would try to find out why shes having them look into what your feeding, i have a dog that also have them and i know she has a calcium deficiency...i have bred to her she throws happy dogs and none of them seem to have that trait...try giving her 3 or 4 tums twice a day...or giving her raw leg quaters with her feed tums are a calcium supplement and bone marrow in raw chicken is a great calcium source...i hope everything works out with her. good luck, #brakesblood!

There are many factors that can cause or bring on a seizure and there are different degrees to a seizure from mild to look like ya dog is going to die type of seizure but the severe ones are usually a tumor or some kind of damage in the brain, even anti seizure medication wont usually work on those type of serious seizures.

I had a dog suffer from seizures, they started mild[petit mal] but moved on to strong[grand mal] seizures. All the meds did was prolong the suffering. Each time your dog seizes it will have an effect on its brain and you may start to notice behavioural changes in the dog. I put down the dog for its own sake. Not saying the meds don't work, just didn't work for me. Any way thats my two cents worth......

her seizures have stoped for about 2 weeks now and shes acting really good my vet said that her heat witch has passed may have been the cause of her seizures and sence its passing shes been good she would seizure very quickly then she would be fine then again it would happen maybe 3 times in a day the common factor was i think she over worked her self on those days for example she just played so hard and so much that she would be empty then later that day she would seizure

Medical is the key word.... Then the dog needs meds ... It shouldn't be ignored. ...

Sadie blue idk if u just want to bust my balls latley... But chill out! Im trying to help this guy...

All I'm saying is bring the dog to a diff dr. .. Get some meds to regulate the seizures!

3 seizures a day is to many to just have and not be regulated
