separation anxiety and crate training problems

Discussion in 'Training & Behavior' started by Rhinna13021, Dec 31, 2009.

  1. pit i just rescued same deal...

start putting her in the crate with you home...5-10 min with a kong loaded and frozen with pb or something..cheez wizz works too...

stay in the room with her.. let her out...keep doing it till you can leave the room etc...and extend time...etc.

never talk to your dog or make eye contact 10-15 min before you leave or when you come home..

and never get angry in front of her...take tremendous patience and restraint...

    good luck!

my rescue was pissing and shitting in the crate..and biting it...he is now accident free...

It isn't so hard to understand. I've found that keeping only one dog is sometimes harder than keeping a few,...even if they don't like each other.
It isn't that they need doggie friends and I'm not suggesting you go out and get another dog, just be aware some dogs just never adjust to being alone.
