Similarties/differences in feeding the racing greyhound and the APBT

Whats the similarties/differences in feeding the racing greyhound and the APBT, and is their any similarties in the training of the racing greyhound and APBT?

I dont know anything about grayhounds ,and not much about the apbt. I not sure if there are any here that keep grayhounds.Someways people but apbts in shape are slatmill,carpetmill,jenny,springpole,flirtpoleand road work.alot of people feed once a day usually 10-30 min after the exercise,this helps with getting the dog empty before the exercise.iam sure the task at hand will change what you feed or do for exercise .what are some ways people exercise greyhounds

 

Ill tell you this much as carry over from the other thread. Would you rather you athletes be fead whole vitamin rich food or process food that's been depleted of vitamins and minerals?

 

There are no similarities in the training of racing greyhounds and fighting dogs, the keep for a fighting dog is geared towards endurance and the training of greyhounds is geared towards a massive short burst of energy, they are however both dogs so the diet that they are fed and the food that they eat is similar.

 

When i had to walk hounds, all that was done was roadwork 6 miles in the evening, one gallop a week, bull terriers got up to 8 daily spread between two walks and feck all else. I guess things have moved on.

thats what i am waitin on lololol however as limey has said apbts need a burst of energy at the start much like a greyhound would so that is one similarity there btwn the two events.... if i remember clearly that is .....limey would be able to clear up his own opinions more than i would and as usual it is worth the time to read them

 

Lol for the record most greyhounds are NOT conditioned in any way!!. In the uk the raceing is considerd the training. As the season progresses the greyhounds wil run faster getting in shape!!.
If a greyhound is to fast at the start of the season, he wil never be able to run fast as the season comes to a end!!.
sins these dogs are raced lets say of the chain. Lots is askt for from there bodys system and kidneys ecstera.
Hensh the greyhound divelopt feeds and especialy the suplements are the best you can use.
As they need to PUSH the unconditioned greyhounds at great speeds. Altho diferend animals both breeds do carry conected genes from the past as they where inter bred!! . there coats hair coloration is the same .
Greyhounds runn with muzles on because they are known to fight like hell. wich is the pitbull(Bull and Terrier) blood shining tru.
it is known when a greyhound starts fighting his career is over!!. as he wil stop running. geograficly there is a diferense umongst the american bred greyhound and the australian and european greyhound.
The usa bred greyhounds are bred more on caracter and are known as stayers(long distance) where the euro dogs are faster and sprinters. but are more mentaly unstable!!!.
the austrailinen gryhound is in between and can cope more with the heat hensh australian suplemends are the best!!!.

The shear fact that a apbt has a sporting evend that lasts mutch mutch longer then a sporting event of a greyhound is not mutch of a problem. its about the energy both dogs use!!.
a apbt generaly works with its mouth closed, haveing a air/oxygen intake restricktion!!... having to cope more with overheating!! due to a badder air to fuel mixture.
sins we/ dogs need oxygen like a cumbustion engine to burn fuel a apbt uses up considreble less fuel. the good ones pace themselfs ore are able to.
the roughf ones and specificly the roughf curs trow out so mutch energy that they wil run hot!! to hot and quit.
hens a deep chest long back end and loin and standing tall is askt for in there confermation to be able to use as less energy as posible but at the same time being able to have vast resourses reddy when askt upon..

Greyhounds ask for MASSIF amounds of energy in a short time. witch should be diliverd very fast. its like looking at a top fuel race car

We all know wat fuel econemy is in cars .

if we stump the trottle the car might go 30 miles faster from 60 to 90mph. but doing so it uses 100% more fuel !!... Callorie intake and use umongst a greyhound and a working apbt is about the same... the diferense is that a greyhound uses it up mutch faster in a shorter time...
so the diferense feeding whize useing specific developt high working food for a greyhound is perfect for the working APBT.
Sins the greyhound scene is a 500.000.000usd legal industry where divelopmend is constand to have dogs runn faster recuver faster grow better have stronger bones joints and muscle fibers . It is only benifitual to working dogs of other breeds... and in my eyes mutch beter then any regural pet food ore raw diet, who simply are NOT up to par being able to diliver what these peurpose divelopd feeds and suplements can and wil give to your dog.

 

I KNEW IT, you gotta tune them dogs carburetors in properly or they won't run good.

good shoes, collar n lead...long walks If they are pullin and its hot, that will wear em down as such.

Ha, could have done with 30 years ago, when we were getting beat out of the bed on a cold morning before school to walk greyhounds....i know must of the racers around here, have cut back considerably, maybe 3 miles hand walking with gallops once a week. There is a lot of them using the pool as well....

The difference between our feeding is, i need the meat the supplementshot/warm water and some vegetables or fruits to get a dog feeding in the best way of my view, limey you need all that stuff to feed a dog in the best way of your view? shit i never want do your work on get the food ready for my dogs

Let's be honest here,ya going for the third the researched food industry cause the big corps that race their grey-hounds,are going to make-sure they get what they paid for,,as my main...but i think i would pick a few out of the other 2...as-well...and i don't think any-body would pass up a load of fresh chicken carcase's for ur hound's....//?????

 

Any dietition/scientist will tell you when reading food labels the less ingeredients the better.all that shit limey gives his dogs is found in a balanced raw diet.This reminds me of hydoponic farmers who use complicated nutriment regimen when good ol soil and shit will produce a superior product everytime.

 

I do like to give Epona credit as i KNOW in the former eastern countries the kibble quality is very poor!!....Epona as for a sales window. we sell the same stuf we use. Just like the dogs we used to sell ones in a while . no hidden agenda back then ore now.. We all know that our stok did and is doing very wel in the former eastern europe. and in other places..Bij the way plenty of kibble feeders who use high quality meats wich they ad with the low protien quality kibble as a protien sours.. aded suplemends wil do the rest. ofcours no matter how wel you feed, if your genetics is not up to standerds no sientific food in the world will help you out.

 

im based in western europe never had hard circumstates like the YU guys when they beginning with the dogs ( this crazy guys match their first dogs in the heat of the Civil War, and this war was a very ugly and bad one in all meanings)

I must agree with you genetics are the background nr one and that is why i dont choose for these eastern europe pedators (only to cross out nothing more) for the reason they only breed "best to best" if a dog is not marked as w d or l in the pedigree of your dog, you can guess for 75% that this dog was genetic failured in the hardware in some way, but a predator in the box and maybe outside the box, im not real interested in these dogs and the quality of keeping their dogs (i statet the sdj comment in the fastlane thread)

but best genetic doesnt worth without good nutrients, a good keep, and there is the point every one has his opinion like his own asshole and thats okay

I need a complete bulldog, for that i have my standarts, and i always prefer fresh meat to make some food of than some instant pre-cooked stuff, for my dogs and myself.
