Yes i totally understand where your coming from but i had alot of horses out of big named horses that were damn good and some were great but that didn't mean i had to go to the source that was charging an arm and a leg to get this stock either

and here is how those high dollar horses end up

The Green Monkey was the most expensive thoroughbred race horse ever sold at public auction. It was at the 2006 fasig-tipton select two year old sale he went through the ring and two bidders kept adding $1 Million onto the price. Until he finally sold for $16 million dollars. The Green Monkey later raced and was a failure on the track never even winning a race. He was retired early and currently stands at stud for $5,000.

Now how many people do you think are lining up to breed to this $16 million dollar horse that didn't in shit and the owners thought the entire time he was going to be a hell of a horse so now you take how many stallions sold for around $1 million each and that mean he could have had 16 stallions all on the track trying to win that triple crown and maybe ending up with having millions of dollars in stud fees to more than one horse

now this is exactly how i feel about these high priced dogs i mean im sure they may be worth every penny to some but its just not my cup of tea to spend that kind of cash on a dog that i don't know if he will turn out or not i try to think logically and spend my money logically also the more investments the more chances you will have a winner rather than putting all your eggs into one basket

And in no way am i taking anything away from these dogs this kennel and all of their accomplishments they deserve whatever they can and will get out of these pups seems as if they are doing a damn god job with there breeding program and folks will be talking about them like we do now the old timers

Yup.. Big difference in spending money with a working kennel that has Chs and been producing Chs then some guy who just selling dogs for a price. You spend 1200 wit them u got a chance at a decent possibly great hound, 5 $500 pups from a shit program means you probably get more shit..

why is it that because a dog is $500 bucks it ha to be shit? just because they aren't all over the internet does not mean they are shit it means to me they are very cautious most old timers i know don't want anything to do with the net just like one fella i know doesn't own a TV he owns a prepaid cell phone but that's for emergencies although i have seen one or 2 of his dogs on peds online and i told him about it and he was pretty upset with the fella and made him take them down

IMO working dogs should be affordable to working people. $1200 isn't what your "average working man" can pay for a pup. maybe a good prospect or a comfo/pull winner....

but if i had people knocking down my door to give me $1200 per pup I'm sure my story would change. nothing like seeing your hard work come to blossom as you count greenbacks

I understand the arguments about the cheap dos, honestly, one of the best dogs I have ever owned only cost $250. Luck of the draw and who you know. But does anyone have contact info on the owner of Tango?

Not saying bc its $500 it's shit, just saying most people selling shit for $500.. They quit just as much as any other price.. For every 1200 Cur there are 500 curs.. Good dogs are where you find them for whatever price, I don't see no Ch or GrCh ROM dogs selling 500 pups too much work put into.. That's a Steal if you ask me don't get no better.. If $1200 ain't working price, y'all need better jobs..

The thing is the pups that he is selling for 1200 a pup are not direct off of a ch or a gr ch but close enough i reckon like i said though if you have the money spend it if you don't stick with what you know and if i had the money i would stick with what i knew anyway

Id be quicker to drop a stud fee! 1200 aint bad for a litter!

  11. Question for those that are familiar with Beast. Would you still pay after the Glock thing. How is this viewed? Taken to the well to many times, etc.

great post! the green monkey isn't even being bred to thoroughbreds, its mostly quarter horse mares he covering.
seattle slew sold for $17,000 cheap for a TB prospect. yet he won the triple crown and went on to be the greatest sire of his time.

No one is saying you cant find good working dogs for 500 bc you can. I mean u can find shitty stock for 1200 dollars that are just pretty papers. My point was its a percentage game and imo a dog that produces like that is work $1200. Of course they all arent gonna work out but he is consistently produces dogs that compete and do so at a high level. I thought the point was to have the best dog period, do u wanna bargain shop or find a bulldog?

I don't call it bargain shopping when you know people selling hounds a lot cheaper throwing just as high percentages

"do u wanna bargain shop or find a bulldog" I want to breed my own bulldogs. but if a fella is seriously shopping for a bulldog. grown dogs get ya there quicker. beast is a good dog though.

Agame, close enough doesn't cut it. That's the problem with the over flooded market. People think that just because there getting a pup off of a son or daughter to a successful stud that they will produce the same quality hounds as there parents. It simply doesn't work that way.

I know which is exactly why i wouldnt want to pay 1200 for one off this litter

I tried to get a pup of Beast bred back to his grand-daughter and that guys asshole puckered up like you shot some lemon juice in it. Haven't talked to him in a while but I think he purchased Size Up's yard. Not 100 % though.
