Anyone own dogs out of Slingshot kennels? Gr Ch Shotsie was off their yard but she doesn't seem to have many offspring.

Gr Ch Shotsie was around in the mid 90's if my memory serves me correct. I have a AGDT with her on the cover with a nice little write up about her. Ill post the story asap.

Sorry, I dont think the story is appropriate for a public forum. Ill just give what details I can. She was still a CH. when the story was published.

She was a black 40 lb dog that was very people orientated and was not intiminated by anything. She was a slow starter that was looked at 2-3 times in short fashion before her first.
Her first was 27 mins over a dog from Dwight P's bloodline. FOr her second she was the noted underdog going against Miss Brownie from Sorrells bloodline, Miss Brownie was picked up in 21 mins. For her third, she beat Razor out of a Redboy Tramp bloodline in 25 mins.

I once was partners on a dog off Frisco(Chinaman/Chinagirl) ex. Shotsie 2(Frisco/GrCh.Shotsie) that was a real good bitch..Unfortunatly she was entered into a comformation show when she was well past her prime(not by me)and didnt show well..I also owned a bitch off Elmo(Frisco/LeeLing) ex.Molly(Ch.Hickory/Ch.Missy) that was a all around pleasent bitch, that lacked in a few areas..

  15. I realize the thread is several years old but I wanted to give insight to Big Al for you guys. Big Al Hemenway. Big Al taught me a lot about bulldogs when I was coming on the scene. I considered him a good friend and he was without a doubt a genuine dogman. I was introduced to him by a mutual friend. That man was Jeff Baker who really gave me my start to bulldogs. Jeff also was a dogman.. Jeff had a honest stud named J Bakers Trojan horse which was off of frisco/cory everson.. Big Al had a ton of knowledge and he had an eye for good bulldogs. He campaigned Shotsie to her GR Ch . He also campaigned missy to her CH. Also CH Cujo which was a Hollingsworth dog.. As well as several 1 and 2xwinners. He loved the dogs and lived it. Ill try to answer some of the questions on here.. Shotsie was bred several times but she wasn't much of a whelper so that's why you don't see much off her.. She was a straightforward rough bulldog.. he eventually sold her. Ch Missy was in my opinion one of the greatest bitch dogs to ever get with it.. She didn't make Gr Ch simply because no one would hook to her anymore.. She was a devastating finisher.. She was a real looker as well. But shared the same whelping problems as shotsie.. Boogie was a heck of a producer as well as a honest bulldog.. I didn't have much to do with the dog you guys which was boogieman 2 not boogie himself.. We use to joke and call him rerun kennels because he always named his dogs after past dogs, Example boogie 2,shotsie 2,etc. Al also had a great producing dog by the name of Buckus. Buckus had a littermate brother by the name of Mingo that was one of the best dogs ive seen. He was strong smart and rough. He no doubt would have been one of the best but he parrished in a brutal yard accident. These 2 dogs were from Trojan horse.. Al was a great dogman and i hope his name lives forever

  17. My pleasure. Big Al did a lot for me in the dogs and I really enjoyed the trips to his yard. I feel blessed to have known him and also to see top notch bulldogs on his yard.
