This is the Staffordshire Bull terrier board of the site called game-dog.com. I cannot understand why it is so hard to understand thatthis board has nothing to do with AmStaffs.

Hi mate I know this is an old post but I totaly agree with you from what I have read about the origional bull and terriers your correct about the pitbull, I belive that all pbt and sbt where the same dog just pitdogs I just think that the Stafford was a certain type of pit dog from Stafford that the cole minners liked and at that time was obviously a great fighter, when the English Irish and scots started to take them to the us they where prob commenly refered to as pit dogs that where bull and terrier crosses therefor pit bull terriers, after a while the dogs called Staffordshire bull terriers where taken over aswell, then it looks to me like the Americans cross the sbt with a bulldog to get am staffs, and as for pitbulls for some reason in America there huge like 60lbs?? For me a real pitbull should be 16-21 inchs and 20-40lbs, the sbt was 16-18 inch and 20-38lbs even under the kc until the size was reduced to14-16 inch and weight kept the same so the pitbull and Stafford are more or less the same dogs but the face is slightly different eyes mainly, in the us and uk I think sbt are alot different in us there just show dogs uk some are still good

 

Animal shelters label am staff or staffys and pit bulls based on conformation red noses and variety of colors as pits but solid buckskin which akc calls fawn with a blacknose the shelter will quickly slap a amstaff label on it. Yes a yellow wit blacknose good be a apbt but it will stick because of conformation guidlines therefore making it easier to adobt. Just look at blunose "pits" there really amstaffs n god knows what ae this new breed called american bullys
