well said, like iv said before anyone keeping serious dogs in a country were dog fighting is illegal keeps there mouths shut and stays well away from public forums.. I keep mine as a pet but I'm 100% sure there are working staffords with ireland and england that seem to very much underestimated by many.

a hypothesis: lets say there are 100 thousand staffords in ireland for a population of 4plus million people in the country and lets say there are 1 million staffords in england for a country with 60plus million, how can anyone come here and say there arent good staffords in either country or that couldnt compete with the apbts? is it possible for one person to keep track of all the staffords or apbt in their own country?

there are 300plus million people in america and i want to say there are at least 1-3 million apbts, how many of those anybody think will make the cut?
yes the "recorded" percentage is higher of winning apbt but who in their right mind could say there arent staffords worth competing?

If any of you knew of or seen any of the genuine staffords of these isles past or present then you would respect Rickys opinion. He ain't speaking from anything but experience.
Your words prove what yous truly know as fact.

Seeing as though dogs originated from asia why dont we just call the breed the asian pitbull terrier! Do you think the breed fell from the sky and landed in the british isles? The breed as been perfected over the pond and evolved and improved on the dogs sent over, the dog is rightly so called the American Pitbull Terrier

bulldog type dogs were widespread throughout europe and asia it just so happens that the English dogs of the time were the best.
we all know that the french had the bordoux (sp) type bulldog. even so a king of England i cant remember which, sent king Louis of France 40 English bulldogs of the highest order as a birthday gift.as he loved them so much.

All dogs originated from asia? There was me thinkin they evolved from the wolf, didn't realise that asia was the only place in the world that had wolves

That was said very nicely, it's the point I was trying to make also, many ASSUME a good working stafford couldn't compete with a pitbull but their forgetting a working stafford is much bigger than a show dog, and basically is what a pitbull was years ago before the name change to Stafford? but anyone my age or older and im sure some younger or secretly "current" in the game knows, good staffords often gave pitbulls all they wanted.
I think many in the USA especially people who have never been over here or have close contacts here assume that once pitbulls were imported there that ALL of them were imported and they became extinct here, or that as they learned more about breeding (line breeding and in-breeding) that the Irish and English all ground to a halt and learned nothing more and that dogs on these isles ceased to improve with time also, I'm sure we can all agree we know more about our favorite breed today than we knew when we first started keeping them? and through contact with other like minded people we often exchanged ideas and experience and experimented with exercising/conditioning and feeding which also improved the stamina and overall performance of the dogs, thats what improved them in the USA, thats what improved them everywhere. and no matter where a dog was bred and raised since, their outcome and performance was down to who bred it, from what stock it was bred from, and how experienced those people were/are
at raising and conditioning their dogs?

lol you were reading my mind, "The Hungarian Timber wolf" I wonder what part of Asia Hungaria is?? not to mention "The Newfoundland Wolf" "Alaskan Tundra Wolf" "Artic Wolf" "British Columbian Wolf" "Mexican Wolf " North Rocky Mountain Wolf" to name a few, I bet these all swam from Asia and has plastic surgery to change their appearence before hiding out in their various countries?
