we use it as a tool & incorporate it within the days activity. just the same as you'd use a flirt or spring. but with the same detail as you work a mill. i wouldn't suggests anyone develop a keep focused on water only use it as a tool.

I can agree with this .. I know even with body building it's best to switch up routine as the body becomes resistant if your constantly using the same weight or weight lifting routine not sure if it's the same with conditioning a dog but I would guess a dog could get bored too with running on a mill all the time ...

That is a movie. LOL You don't believe Sly did all that do you. A friend of mine who owned Saigon Kennels who had Rogue #3 for Butch did a hich with him. He wasn't nothing in real life.
Ready to Rumble was a Pro, whip Angel and he didn't swim or Montel, or the Hitman and DC, all had Pit Dogs too.

Rocky, that was a good one

LWG even if he is referring to bloating ....bloating in the abdominal area or the swelling from the bloating in that region does put pressure on the lungs that will effect how the dog breaths.

At least he isn't a coward hiding behind a fake bogus name. He put his name & rep out there for you to find out. You run your mouth when you never have been known to do anything. What gives you the right to judge? Your jealously is showing idiot.

No what I meant was the lungs. Swim a dog every day then take the dog out and see how he does. To bad there are so few who really had dogs that are title trying to convice novices this really works for conditioning. Well you all can't say you were warned. I guess all these dogs over the years who were GR. Ch. & Ch. which were never swam in a Keep was lucky to win. WOW I didn't realize there was such legends on this forum.

That's what I thought when you mentioned it thanks for clarifying .... Because bloating and congestion are two different things you mentioned congested not bloating so I figured you were referring to the lungs

And what in the world would make some one believe because they don't let their business out they are retired? What makes you think some one doesn't stay up on things. How many of you have blood dope a dog before in a Keep? Come on experts tell our camp how little we know again. rotfl.

I like flirt work too, so long as I have it timed. Makes a dog reflects shaper.

Come on NGK Springpole? Really. She won because she lucky and game not because of her Keep.
By the way, you discribed a dog I use to condtion, about every thing about her was the same but she love to work a mill to the point if you left her alone around it, she would climb up on to it and work herself. She had a hard mouth and would go on a down or finish hog and eat it. Ya she could swim but in a Swim Keep at night the cold of the night would settle into her lungs. Oh ya, I won 5 times with her, her name was Gr. Ch. Koko.

I looked at the link, I need some time to read through all that shit. I didn't see Ben's Keep on there.

I did see Maurice's name, Maurice didn't write that, if you knew him and he asked you how to condition a dog he would tell you to feed him 6 lbs. of raw lean meat and all the Gatoraid he could drink. LOL
Notice the reference to all the products? The were made by the main condtioner of the time Bob Fritzs who I talked to many times. He condtioned Chinaman, Michiael Spinks etc. Guess what, Bob didn't condtion dogs be swimming and his name is all over that link and every product name he invented. Peak Proformance, Carbo Plex, etc. How many of you read his book? You name them, those top dogmen talked to him! He owned the company APRL.

Damn, I guess Im late for this party? LMAO

I think the title of this topic is misleading. Unless your main tool used in your keep is swimming , it is NOT a "SWIM KEEP".

Only time I heard someone using a "Swim keep" is if the dog got injured or the person is a newbie LOL.

Yawl know where I stand on this subject as I posted it on another topic. Swimming can be incorperated as a supplemental part of your keep. In fact almost any form of excercise can be used as a supplemental part of your keep, but you have to keep in mind which form or excercise will bring out the most of a dogs maximum potential in a limited amount of time for that particular goal or activity.

Like I said in my other post you can put a dog in top shape just by conditioning him on land alone, but it will be really really hard pressed to do it with just swimming alone, unless your dog is entering a swimming contest LMAO.

Its best to simulate the excercise/tools closest to what activity your dog is participating in. Some of them Dock dogs can clear 16 feet, but in other activities that is NOT a good thing LMAO.

Heck when I masterbate it brings my heart rate up , but that dont mean Im going to supplement it in my keep LMAO.

I thought it was about work Keep not Feed. It was already said Feed is the key to a Keep.
By the way it was Ralston's Bran Check not Kellogg's. It was for fiber aka rufage. That is an old feed Keep. Supplements is the cutting edge not dog paddling.

The subject I thought was about Pit Dogs water dog retrievers.
For the last on this subject, top dogmen never used swimming at all in a Keep.
It will congest a dog at night. You have been warned, do as you like, I'm glad there are people out there with dollars then sense.
