As for Bullyson, he was poisoned with nicotine, and the vial was found later. Had Don got in a car on a certain day, his body would have been found in the killing field along with two others. He went into hiding after this and didn't come out until Maurice died. Having heard directly from a person at the match, Bullyson did not quit, he just couldn't continue, as his nerves were paralyzed.

many people where there from al over the usa /canada.....
some had brought there kids with them ..days from home . lol
he did 2 studs in the 24 hours before match time
and like 6/7 week before ..
the dog was not poissened but exhausted lol.

who was close to don mayfield and kept dogs for don and maveroick was one of those dogs , and infact mavercik was going to be sold to an englishman who had already bought many dogs from don in the late 78 and into the80s , and he was supposed to buy maverick ,but when he arrived to buy the dog , he had been sold to floyd by kemmer , and surprise surprise all of a sudden his ped showed his breeding to be other than mayfield bred once floyd got him.Is floyd a legend in the sport , yes absolutely , would i trust his peds from those criticall years (blind billy /eli/maverick) absolutely not , and although the dog is and should be the most important factor in deciding many things , but if you cant trust the ped or you know its false , how can you breed a family around that starting point , and if you look today at the carver family , which as we know carver put out many false peds , and that family today is not representative of what it was in the late 60s and 70s,as people bred that family according to the peds supplied from carver and outcrossed them ,without knowing as they thought they were inbreeding or linebreeding based on the peds, and even before caver died , very few had a pure family of bred carver dogs, but the peds showed they did .

Pretty good thread to be brought up. I went to the beginning read the whole thing. Very interesting to say the least. I like it when new people stir it up a bit. I don’t have a lot of experience in the dogs like some but I definitely enjoy the history.

Maverick is 100% off Herman. Floyd bred Liza to Herman. Mr Harvey Miller who own the Linus dog that was bred to MNC to get Herman remembers the breeding very well. I just spoke to him recently.
