  6. She doesn't look that short to me. Look like a small dog. Yeah it happens like that sometimes with size and color

It may be the cross. There is a cat up around this way breeding a double bred son of Barracuda to some Frisco bitches and these dogs are smaller, but muscled (thick) a lot like the pictures you posted.

Individually the dogs are smaller height wise but the muscle is packed on. Several of the dogs have done well for themselves but they struggle when dialed in on weight. They are really short in comparison to a taller dog and 'look' small when the two are on the same weight.

He recently bred one that looks to be a clone of the picture you posted, except she is buckskin in color, to a El Negro/Cardenas/Frisco male and the dogs are tall, long and heavy, will end up in the high forties mid fifties. S

I would say that build is a THROWBACK to the Mayday in the pedigree, inparticurly the Hollingsworth dogs were short and thick... Alot of them seemed to be taller in the back which is a very sloppy build and the least athlethic body structure you can find in these hounds... Often overlooked is the oppisite build of lower backend, its hard to beat the leverage of that body style in my opinon...

Some of the best W8 pullers have this superior build. This build starts with a strong lower backend that pushes into either a equally strong higher front end or tapers to a taller stronger front end. Even with wieght pulling the energy and muscles in the neck and head add for an extra something seen in the focus of their eyes...

Pistola you must not have seen pictures of Hollingsworth Truman which was very typical of many Hollingsworth's dogs! You must have also forgot Mayday was a Redboy/Jocko cross to the Bolio/Tombstone dogs and BOTH familys carried the trait of "least athletic body structure"...your words Pistola! BTW a lower backend will have smaller everything ( muscle, tendons, ligaments and all the power features) which would be detrimental for a match dog because they use about 80% of everything they do off their backend! Your OPINION is incorrect and all you have to do is look at all winning dogs and about 90 have the build which you state as least athletic!

Lol, everyone has a different opinion of what build makes the best weight pullers.

I think that breeding has hit on some dwarfism genes which is common in a few lines around the world.
I have seen it in eli/snooty type breedings myself.

lol... I just figure the breeder will know best lansford101 you ask what you guys think so I told you what I think lol.. now you say for entertainment purposes now I understand cause size don't matter IMO. these dog aren't predicable you can increase your chances if bred right and you still need that luck on your side lol... mind 1st and the rest will fall in line FYI I'm not a breeder lmao...cull hard
