To me its more akin to a run of the mill thug who steals car parts just make ends meet here and there cause he is just that good that it remains so as opposed to a, lets say, Maurizio Percan, who made a million and change in an elaborate underground operation off of one particular car part, lets say his frisco.

Garner is a peddler like Carver, Clemmons, Boudreaux, Ratfliff, Patrick, White, Crenshaw, WCC, Holland, Hackman, Crews, Cooper etc.. all these men/kennels sold multiple litters a year to the public. Thats how most people get dogs. You can buy a puppy or breed to a stud with your own bitch and raise your own litter.

 

For all those into the Garner bashing let me paint a picture. Let's suppose a 'dog mommy' member were to come on saying she'd bought a pet from Tom, however said pup is wrecking her house, killing cats and mauled an Akita at the dog park. She needs someone to come get the dog now or she'll have to PTS. I'm certain that some of the same ones bashing may jump at the opportunity. From what I've seen many times peddler bashing is a form of reverse marketing

 

I don't think that really has anything to do with where the dog came from if a person is going to help someone out and take in a dog so it won't end up in a bad situation I doubt who the dog was bought from would come in to play

With all due respect sir, you are being less than honest. If the dog in the scenario I painted was a rescue or bought out the paper the advice would be to get rid of. And you thus proved my point. Thank you

 

CB is one of the most respected and honest members on here, whether or not you agree with his reply I can assure you it is not a question of honesty on his part. I have read the exchange myself and have trouble understanding what it is you are trying to imply in your scenario. That is not a dig at you by the way, its early morning here lol, another coffee and I'll re-read.

I'm not questioning his integrity, that's for sure. I hold no brief for Mr Garner either. My point is this, many people jump on the bash Garner train every time the topic comes up. I also stated that I too, even though I've never seen a Garner dog in my area, just bought into that trend however the records will show Garner bred dogs representing at the highest level. The same people who bash Garner more often than not, should the opportunity arise, would grab a Garner dog if the price was not a deterrent.
I speak mainly from the point of view of one from the 'third world', and know the difficulties in acquiring good stock. For people like myself the main issue at the end of the day is deliverability that automatically narrows the search to the Garner, PIK EVO and the like.
I raised the idea of 'reverse marketing' because I question the intent of some of the 'hate' spewed on threads like these. Are the points, while valid, genuine or is it a subtle way of suggesting don't buy from garner buy from me. At the end of the day the best advice one could give is do your research, find the closest dogman and get the help. If the only option is to shop at Garner or any of the big name peddlers is take your time. What I've noticed and that should be the main concern is breedings done last year appear on the bottom of some of the current breedings, so know the dam.

Yes I noticed this as well , mostly with some of the breedings done with Kemo. I do know Tom did some breedings with him before he brought him home from Texas.

 

I also worry about his bitches. He advertises all his studs but not the dams. You can't find any photos or heard if they were tested and from whom. The only bitch I know of, who campainged her etc is Lexus II.
Garner dams are something mystical sort of, not the good kind! Yes, he writes a couple of words in every litter, but actually they are all copy paste from previous litters and different individuals!

 

I used to be real high on Southern Kennels breedings, it was there I first noticed the trend especially in the time Barracuda and Machobuck were there. And the results would show that nothing noteworthy came off Cuda in that time. Machobuck however had better returns, probably a topic for another thread. Thankfully the restrictions to shopping there were too hard but that's how I became aware to study the bitches especially if buying blind.

 

Well I've got an unknown diff that I kept,I kept it because of who the person that asked me to keep it,a friend of mine. So what I'm saying is for me the only reason I would take in a new dog would be to help a friend out,I wouldn't care how the dog was bred
