Rashad Evans in the 2nd by KO, TKO or Stoppage.

He'll be looking to bounce back hard and get a shot at Machida to make up for his poor display in his defense against him where he lost his belt.

I'd also like to see him win, Shogun Rua get his rematch at Machida, obliterate him, since he got fucking duped big time in the first fight and shoulda been a CLEAR winner on points (anyone who can't see that is a fucking blind man fyi) and then see Rashad and Shogun match off for the belt - the 2 guys imo, who deserve it, will put on the best show and regardless of who wins, be worth of donning it.

Don't get me wrong, I very much like Lyoto Machida, but the decision against Rua was a joke, he doesn't deserve to be wearing that belt regardless of how much I might like him - fairs fair, and until they rematch, Shogun Rua is the Light Heavy Champion in my eyes.

 

YES I SEEN THAT FIGHT ,MACHIDA X SHOGUN , shogun won that fight unumamous decision 4 outa five rounds , i believe Evens will win ..but could go either way ....but when evens was knock out by machida ...that was one the werst i ever seen !!!!!! lets see how he re-covers ..? :cool:

 

Oh and the other fighter to watch out for is Gilbert Yvel - I trained with him personally back when I was Oceanic Belt Holder in Muay Thai, the guy has unbelievable strikes, and I still talk to his camp regularly. He brushed up on his ground game BIG TIME after the defeat to Josh Barnett, so look out for him.

If he has picked up enough and improved even to the point where he can defend and get it back to the feet from the ground, he's gonna be a very dangerous man in the UFC based on his strikes alone.

And from what I know, thats all he's been working on, take down defense, and getting up off his back to bring it back to where he can dominate. Will be real interesting to see how hard he's been working, he is a real stand up guy in real life, a true gentleman of the game despite some of his crazy antics (head stomping, punching out referee's etc.) - guy just loses control when he's in the zone and tries to kill anything in front of him - part of the reason I like him as much as I do gamedog in a human package if I've ever seen one... don't believe me, watch the Barnett fight, he took a fucking shallacking and still got up for more every godamn time like it was nothing.

 

I'm rooting for Thiago and Yvel. This card has some good matchups..

 

dont keep up on UFC to much but put my money on EVANS because a friend an old math teacher of mine who is a ex UFC champ (RICH FRANKLIN) advised me to do

 

It turned out to be a decent card. A majority of the fighters on the original card got injured and fighters had to step up.
Paul Daley should get the Knock Out of the Night.
Happy to see Gilbert Yvel get smashed by Dos Santos. Yvel has attacked refs in the past and countless other things. Not my favorite fighter!

a lil late on the reply, but Thiago f'd himself by not finishing Rashad when he had the opportunity.. Rashad might have won the fight, but Thiago Silva exposed him for have a weak chin and not responding to solid strikes. If Silva wasn't so gassed from the other rounds and kept working for another 10-15 seconds, Rashad woulda been laid out flat on his back.

IMO Rashad is highly overrated, and if he almost got put to sleep by Thiago Silva, he's gonna have a big problem backing up all the shit-talk if he meets Rampage in the near future. Rampage swings and takes people's heads off... and his wrestling is on-point to where he'll neutralize (if not dominate) Rashad's wrestling and takedowns. I think if he got another shot at Machida, the outcome would be the same as the first fight as well... that knnockout was phenomenal.

 

I gave all 2 rounds to Rashad, he clearly was dominating the fight with those takedowns, Silva just did not have good take down defense,on the 3rd round, Silva had the opportunity to ko Rashad, but instead decided to show boat and paid the price, I wouldt say Rashad has a weak chin dude, Silva is not any mma fighter he is known for his heavy hands and punching power, Rashad just got caught and like he said, got lazy at last round.

 

i'm not saying thiago should have won the fight... he gave up too many points with all those takedowns in the first 2 rds (even though I thought hes supposed to be a BJJ black belt?? ). I'm just saying that he could have won, if he didn't let it slip away by not following through and finishing him. That win wasn't due to Rashad's ability to dominate with anything other than takedown-points for a decision, it was due to Thiago Silva letting Rashad dodge a bullet because Silva didn't finish him with a stoppage when he really should have (he was probably just too tired.. who knows?). So I think Silva beat himself... Rashad didn't win with anything else but accumulated points for takedowns.

 

Silva is a black belt in BJJ, that doesnt mean he is going to have an excellent take down defense, Chuck lidell is more of a striker , but in most of his fights, he had a good take down defense, like a wise man once said "winning is winnning , be it by a coulpe of feet or a mile" and in this case, Rashad came ontop (just to let you know, I was rooting for Silva),winning by points .

 

cool.. I'm excited for the upcoming cards. Hopefully I'll be able to make it up to UFC 11 up in Newark NJ..

 

FYI: Rashad will lose to Rampage and Machida imo :cool:
