The "of type" is such a stupid way of choosing dogs to be taken from owners, anyone who owns a Bull breed dog that isn't registered with the KC is at risk.

Absolutely disgusting, cruel and a complete waste of money. The government should be ashamed of themselves, keeping dogs with no intention of assessing whether they are dangerous or not. Either release them or euthanise if they are aggressive to people.

 

Wow that is some fucking bullshit right there. What made them think that dog was dangerous? Did they do any type of temperment testing or do they just assume any type of bull breeds of dogs are all potentially dangerous? IGNORANCE is bliss.....UK is worse then America but America is catching up LMAO.

 

If they temperament tested the dog and it failed then they would put it down. Looks like the owner was raided on other charges.

It all goes back to the 1991 dangerous dogs act that banned so called fighting breeds, such as Pit Bull types including APBT and Am staffs any dog of type, Dogo, Tosa and Fila. Despite there only being one or 2 Dogo's, zero Tosa or Fila in the country registered.

You can own a neo, Presa, Boerboel, Corso, American Bulldog, and most mastiff types legally.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers and English Bull Terriers are fine as they were KC registered breeds at the time.

SBT are the 3rd most popular breed in the UK based on Microchipping data and our rescues are full of them same as U.S. Is full of "Pit Bull" types.

Very stupid law as any SBT cross can be taken as "of type".

Plenty of APBT x Greyhound Lurchers about though, incredible dogs.
