Thats a great post, why don't you post more often?

I prefer to just read and keep most of my comments to myself. I really only posted on this one cause I knew you. I don't want to get into to many long winded debates on the internet. It's not a safe place.

So true, anyways thanks for the advise, a year is a long way away and nothing is ever set in stone around here (hell, we went through about 6 studs before deciding to go with Geach), so I may or may not do it, there is still alot of variables to work out. I agree with what you posted. But hate to see that line die out, but who knows, maybe their is a reason they aren't out there anymore......I have alot of options open to me as far as studs go, and I'm just plotting for the moment, CFH would like to see this done and I'm not completely sure why, but when he showed me the paperwork on it, I was like, damn that looks nice, My first opinion was nice paperwork but the dog has been a proven couch hound is whole life, which is my only issue with the dog. On a different subject, are you all set up for this pup? I heard you got a nice 10' x 10' for 1/2 the price, I've been thinking of getting one, there's no way I can do 3 dogs in my house nor do I want to try, and with the kids in the backyard regularly I don't particularly want to do a chain set up. Oh yeah you ever get that paperwork on that other dog you got? I was told the ped I posted on ped-online is not the real ped for him.

your boy has a point lol. with so many proven studs out there why take a chance on a house dog. & yes there are reason why certain bloodlins fall out of favor just like "panama red" bloodline. IMO i think if you found " pepper jack's liter mate brother & stuck it to MIA you would have a chance of getting some off the wall showstoping freaks. thats just my take see what bbd thinks about that breeding?

Again, I am only stating my own opinion but I think you need to see what Mia is about too. I am a big believer in both parents being competitors. For example, If only the males were on the starting line up and the females were bench warmers, and I am trying to create my own line. Out of a 5 generation pedingree, I only have 50% of the team competing and scoring touchdowns while the other 50% are fetching water. I would prefer to have a 5 generation team of starters then 50%. Know what I mean?

    AGK,
totally understand what your saying. Here is another flipside to that coin. Here is how I would personally go about what your doing. I would purchase a female from a respectable dogman that maybe took the female on a few practice hunts before the competition. During those practice hunts, she made a mistake and lost a tooth or two. instead of stopping the hunt, the dogman lets her go to town and sees what she's got. He stays out on the practice hunt till past dark aand returns with an extremly happy hound and owner. The dogman has a yard of starters and knows you well. He sells you this bitch because she lost her teeth. You use this bitch as your brood and breed her to some all star players. Then in the end you still have 100% of the dogs in your ped on the starting team.

AGK you know what i mean. all the un needed recognition is on it's way out. think about what good it really did anyways? it was more of a marketing tool to sell pups to folks that had no idea what was really going on. just because a dog has a title don't mean shit. i can go make ROM with dang neer any dog. spot picking has been going on for years. i ain't impressed by a title of any type only a dog can make me turn my head. the prettiest ped don't mean shit to me if that dog ain't a bulldog. that's why i don't buy into all that "brood" business. IMO only the best bulldog should get bred. you get out what you put in. the guys that constantly produce the best dogs don't do it on hopes & dreams.

This how I really feel and how I really do it. There are way to many dogs ending up in pounds. There are always exceptions to the rule but you just can't rely on that. A dog needs to earn its right to be bred. I recomend that everyone gets a mentor. That is the best way to learn and not make as many mistakes.

I Agree also with WDK's post, it was a good read. When space is limited it's VERY difficult to keep a litter of pups from proven dogs, most can't put out the effort.
    It takes years.

  16. I was just going threw old post and came across this. Did you make this breeding and if so how’d it turn out looks very very interesting.

That isnt the ped i posted originally. The dog as azevedos Apollo.

It was a double bred red beckers ch red dog bred dog. I don't know what that is.

I did not do the breeding. The dog was nothing more than a friends spoiled petbull and I didn't want to go that way when I have a lot better options. The male was pretty old and had a hard time standing on his own by the time I may have went through and done it. It still could have been a great breeding. It was some good old blood but I just ended up choosing to go a different direction.
