he is a very good dog but I dont think he would have been put to any weight later in the game when more people was into it. I suppose there wasnt much people in the game yet, imagine now 60lb game dog like mayday with some wind will over power and still push to the end. Hard to beat aint it!!!!!!:D:D:D

those dogs may have been on the bigger side because of the fact that some of their ancestors were said to be blue pauls..

Colby's Pincher was only matched into other APBT's, the quality of his opposition is somewhat suspect because he was basically a catch-weight dog and most bulldogs of that era were generally smaller, that being said he still destroyed everything put in front of him! How do I know this...Lou Colby told me so amd I don't think there was ever a more honest man! Of course he was told this by his father, judging from all the Colby's I've met then I would bet he was telling the truth! I don't think threre's a dogman alive who wouldn't give a testicle to own Pincher or Bob tail Bob

I thought that old movie clip depicted the (pit)bulldog more realistically than Jack London did writing, from what I can remember reading the book in middle school..London’s physical description was more so of an English bulldog.
These novelty matches probably occurred…white fang or any fit northern wolf likely would have eaten cherokee like a bowl of ice cream outside the confines of the manmade box, after a jaunt in sub zero temps across ice and snow.

The new movie don't even show that scene. The dog is not a bulldog either. Ends up becoming a member of the pack of wolves. Has offspring with one of the sub females. Still a good movie but nothing like the original.

Wolves are hard to deal with in a pack.

I'm calling a foul for having the chain around the wolf's neck still while in the box. Lol
