wats tha best way to get my bitch to lock and hang?

My tri colord female just turnd a year and i kno its about time she learns to lock. she will only lock on sticks tht i hold and nothing elivated... im scared i mite have babied her too much... her mother would jump and lock on anything i told her to. even tree branches 9ft in tha air, so i kno she has it in her. wat are sum good ways i can bring it out??:confused:

Why should you dog have to learn to "lock"? Maybe she doesn't like the same games as her mother. You may have to find some other different games she likes to play.

Being a Pit Bull doesn't mean they have to necessarily like to "lock" when they are playing..

"Lock"??? They don't "lock" anything, Don't believe the hype. Her wanting to hold on has nothing to do with you babing her. if she wants to she will. as Dreamer said she just may not be into it.

You have to make her want to keep it... find something that really motivates her and that she will want to hang on to. Get her excited about it then she if she will hang. Learn what makes her tick and you can get her to do what ever you want.

dogs dont lock, they just either bite hard or they dont, if she dont want wont to bite hard and hang of something shes obviously not that into it, agree with victor

To the OP: you might want to get some hides and try that out. I think Stillwater sells them. If the dog bites, great. If not, obviously the dog is not into it. Every dog is different.

 

when she holds on something use a rope tie her mouth shut then use a lock and lock it up. Now thats a very tight lock right their.

 

u just have to make it fun for them. i have had dogs that didnt like to hang, they just played tug. i just gradually elevated whatever toy they likes the most.thye got so into the toy that they would grab it where ever it was at. But i mean some dogs just dont want to. Doesnt make them any less of a apbt.

 

i dont suggest letting your dog hang anyway its dangerous it can hurt or even break its back if it lands wrong. plus it doesnt work the body anywhere near as good as if the dog has its feet firmly planted on the ground

and they don't lock, they just don't want to let go :rolleyes:
but anyways, try some cowhides, most go nuts for them

they don't all play in the same ways ya know... mine never really liked the springpole before I tried cowhides (but mostly because he used to be afraid of the sound the spring made lol)

This is what you do..Get a good harness that will support her weight without hurting her..Put a large padlock through the d ring, Buy a heavy duty hook, screw the hook into a 2x4..Now lift your bitch up, and hang place the padlock over the hook and there you go your bitch is locked and hanging...
