  1. Long shot......Folks this is to ask your oppinions...
after two years of resherch ive decided to make my own cloths wax for cotton garments..
    coats, pant, hats,tarps,even bags.
if you have any experienc with this you will no theres lots of recipes and lots of diffrent oils and waxes to choose from.theres probs a right way and a wrong way but theres no set recipe.
im after a all naturel recipe.no parrifins or sillicons or anything synthetic.
i understand some of these methods are top secret lol.pm me if thats the case...

Theres gotta be some one on here who knows about this?

    All the best folks.

Well, I have no clue ;)
Think I would start my own research with bees and trees first.
    Beeswax. Tree resin.
    Bees call this propolis lol.
Next stop neem and coconut ...
And then I would probably look out for some who really know lol.
    Outdoor sites ?

  3. Thats very similar to what i have planed..only diffrence is ide swap neem for flax..
ide also probs mix the flax 50/50 with walnut.
ide also swap the coconut for pure lanolin..
ive used lanolin(wool wax)on wool items before with awesome results...
ive also had good results on poly/cotton material with beeswax and parrafin blends and candles that were made out of palm wax and parrafin.both mixes were bomb proof, but ide say the palm wax parrafin blend candle was slightly better.
ive tryed other blends from coconut and soya oil and olive oil blends on pieces of rag just to test and it seemed to work but took a long time to dry out.i tryed pure soya and soya mixed with coconut and the coco soya mix dryed out faster then the pure soya.
Some people use turps to dry it out ,and turps will do that and make the cloth waterproof .but that stuff (and parrafin for that matter)has its place on sails imo.LOL.
fine on a sail thats high up in the wet windy sky were it aint gonna combust...but in the woods sitting next to a fire?..
i no some people use turps with good results.but not for me.
im thinking if you use a high percent of wax and a low percent of oil it will dry out fast anyway...

Good thinking..its took me two years.(about three really:-)to come up with a similar concoction...what i still aint tryed lol.

    All the best.
