No way. To many unproven dogs being bred already. We all need to stop breeding. Leave it to the professionals.

i totally agree with you, but now who would be deemed a professional these days?
even the oldtimers are considered peddlers these days

ive heard this before about a 1st or 2nd heat......but...if nothings going to stop you.....id say wait till the bitch is mature in mind aswell as body to be able to handle the birth and litter!......and also true.....what merits the bitch to be bred??

they also kept the whole litter for at least 2 years.
in this breed patience is a virtue

I dont really believe in breeding before the age of 2yrs. You cant go by the number of heat cycles, because many dogs have irregular heats. The last bitch i bred went into heat at 2 1/2 yrs old for the very first time. And my Rascal bitch will be 2yrs in April and she's only had one cycle so far.

Most bitches will have there first heat with in the first 10 months of there life, if someone told you to try on the first heat you need to not fuck with that cat no more because hes a friggin artard, would you try to get your 8 year old daughter knocked up? Kind of the same point....... And if you have to ask a question like that please DO NOT BREED DOGS!

3rd or 4th heat at the earliest in my opinion... By then you should know enough about a bitch's qualities and strengths and what she'll be bringing to th table. Any earlier than that, and one should question why they are in such a hurry to breed a dog.. that's just my personal opinion.

i agree:d..plus they are way too young to be breed they are still pups themselves..

  17. I like to wait and see how ANY dog, male and female pan out before I even think about attempting a breeding, and, for me that takes 1.5 to 2 years. Also, you can physically ruin a female and the whole litter if you stick her before that.

well i read plenty of books as well on the subject i was asking for a opinion not a statement and the person who did tell me this has and bred more champions than you will ever own and they have been in the game for 100's of yrs combined.....

Is that a fact sir? I don't know any real dogman that breeds pups, and anyone can make a ch. these days, it's not hard since there isn't anywhere to report them to so.............
