Believe it or not, rubber gloves are wonderful too. They will pick up dog hair like crazy, even on furniture. If you can find one of those slip on grooming gloves that have rubber on one side, that's really good. some times though, I just use like a playtex glove.

I like the rubber curry brushes. I have one of those that you hold in your palm with a little strap that goes over your fingers. Gets the loose hair out pretty good.

I use a curry brush for a horse also, works wonders. I really like the Zoom Groom made by Kong with the big round tips, not the pointy ones. We have that at work and it works really well. And for a dog with a little longer hair like a lab or rotti I find that a curry comb plus a good, tight flea comb takes out all the hair.
As for a vitamin/supplement, all I ever use it Missing Link (I like it because it is made from whole foods) and some vitamin E and Kelp. Sometimes I add in a little Vitamin C too, depending on what I am feeding at the time. Missing Link is my favourite by far.

I like rubber curry brushes for horses...but PetSmart has a "Kong Brush" that you can use in the wet or dry. I use it in the bath and just to brush...gets out dirt and dead hair!

The reasion I asked the Q was because my dog as some long hair that didn't come out dearing the summer. So i got a plastic palm brush thinking it might work but it didn't take out the loose hair. I thought that it would because you can lightly pull on it and it comes out. On the vitimans I just wanted keep him on the up and up. So thinks for the replies and if ya'll come up with some more good ones just let me know. [IMG]
