  2. Why can't they leave all the good owners alone target the dangerous dogs owned by poor owners. if you can feed 5 dogs take care and harbor 5 dog in a good mannor than good. the people with dogs running at large, and the people that walk down the street letting there dogs jump at the end of a lead at the guys poodle down the block are the people the city county and states need to concren there time with. not the good owners. judge the owner not the dog a gun cant kill on its own the person behind it can.

Well ,I dont want to jinx anything ,but,It does seem as though the majority here are leaning towards tighter dog control laws without BSL.Of course their are still morons who leave messages in the newspaper opinion line like "Pitt bulls are only good for killing children"(yes someone actually said that). But it does seem like common sense might be winning (For once).Keep your fingers crossed for us.And thankyou to everyone who wrote letters!:D

well the thing about that is,it is allready a law here that you can only have two of any kind of dog without a permit ,so I dont really know what they mean with that one. Also they said in one article that anyone who currently has more than two will have to give the others up for "Adoption".I think they at least need to grandfather in those who allready have the permit let them just keep the ones they have and not issue anymore permits to new dogs.As far as "Adopting out" your dogs, well ,my dogs will get a bullet before that happens.

It sounds fair to godfather in dogs that people owned before the legislation. Do they have a no adoption policy on pitbulls in your area? What would happen if an owner came to rescue it's apbt?

The city of Wichita has a no adoption policy on them ,The Humane society Will adopt them out though. They sat that the big problem with the dogs is that the "City euthanizes more Pit Bull's ,than any other breed".Well, that is obviously due to their own stupid policy and has no merrit when it comes to the amount of pit bulls in the city.Of course if their policy was to euth every lab ,then there would be more labs euthanized ,thus,by their logic, labs would be the the most problematic breed. Morons!

I'm curious as to why this sounds good. For instance, I can provide proper nutrition, care, exercise and give more than enough attention and love to more than 2 dogs. So what right does someone have to tell me how many dogs I can own if I do my part and do everything by the book? Is it because you and other like you cannot do it so you think no one can do it? Or is it a power ego issue? Or a jealousy issue? And is it ok for someone to own 15 Chihuahuas yet I can only own 2 "pit bulls"?

Please help because I'm failing to see any logic here.

Exactly. the govt. should have no say in how many dogs they think you can handle. Obviously, if you had 50 dogs on half an acre, then there would be problems and someone might need to step in. But if you have 4 dogs, and are raising them just fine, and they are all housed, fed, loved, etc., then how is it the govt's business to say, "umm, you can't have four, you need to get rid of two."
