This picture was taken in North West Territories Canada. A pack of wolves tried to get a easy meal but they picked the wrong little staff. The owner of the dogs said there was at least 6 wolves by his deck he fired a gun in the air to scare them the wolves took off but his staff got a hold of one and made him pay. The german shepherd cross just watched and barked while his staff buddy did the dirty work. Just thought I would post it some might find it interesting. Just image what a real good sized pit bulldog would do to a wolf.

That Wolf must have been all gums because any dog would be a mess after a tangle with one of those.....

He must have gave that dog a good cleaning before the pic.No saliva or a single scratch.

No blood on the dog from the wolf, no blood on the snow. Looks like he shot a wolf hunting and the dog had a go at it and then he came back later for a photo. Or even more likely he found a dead frozen wolf that had been killed and took a picture. I may be wrong though.

haha You all make good points. I've heard of APBT's taking down coyotes, but taking down a wolf could be quite an undertaking. I have however seen a yard accident between a captive wolf and a livestock guarding dog that only lasted a few minutes because the LGD was an experienced dog and simply grabbed the throat and didn't let go till the wolf had expired. So it is possible but this picture is so obviously fake.

I live where there are lots of wolves.. that pic does not tell the true story.. it's a complete fabrication!! We've had coyotes kill dogs or packs eat them right on the chain. That dog looks like he just got back from getting a mani pedi. I Don't believe it for one second!
Even the most experienced athlete would have damage from the interaction.

    I call this story BS
    Nice try though lol!

Well if the photos fake I am sorry guys. A guy at work sent me the pic and said he read the story in some news article. The staff does look like he was just groomed and does not appear to have any marks of a fight. The wolf also now that you say it does look like it had been frozen long before the pic was taken. So who knows what really happened.

My grandparents had a male Australian cattle dog (blue heeler) on there farm that was a good 50lbs and he took out a single coyote on a few occasions. They aren't very tough on there own. in a pack is a different story. As for wolves I have only seen a few in in my life and have zero experience with them.

HAd an ol ugly ass bulldog that was a critter getter when I had fowl, he ate a yote now & then.. One evening he jumped in the middle of a few 2 stuck, the others ran, he killed one dead there & the other drug itself off... He had some damage but he hated yotes..

But I would NEVER put him on a wolf... 50 pounds & 150 pounds....

Looks like the wolf was shot. There's a gunshot mark under the ear of the wolf.

Come on even white fang lost to a little pit bulldog. You are right to much size difference in the wolfs favor plus the hair would really cushion the bite force . But a big pit bulldog such as plummers Aligator or Dummy I would put my money on the dog but who knows I could end up broke.

White Fang was a Wolf Hybrid of some sorts. There's some funny and interesting old threads on here about Wolf vs Pit Bull Terriers. Using the search title term "Wolf", there are some good reads, lol. Pretty much summed up that the Wolf has all the physical tools including massive size advantage, larger cutters etc, in the wild to destroy a Pit dog but in a contest unless it can win early the wolf is doomed and more likely to save itself by fleeing as most wild animals will in self preservation as it isn't bred for gameness.

If it's a scratching game I'd bet the farm on a good bulldog. If it's survival of the fittest in the woods I'd have to go with the wolf.

Would depend on the individuals as well.

No doubt lb for lb there isn't a better animal for combat than a good bulldog but in the wild, wolves reign. These dogs ain't indestructible though, especially against a 150 lb animal designed to kill quick. Them double cutters ain't hurting it any either.

Real talk the staff looks kinda scared of the wolf to me. Being that close dead or alive I couldn't keep any of my dogs off of it
