wont eat chiken

alright so ive been feeding my dog raw ground beef mixed with kibble and he likes it alot hell like the ground beef more so i tried to get him to eat a little bit of chicken and he doesnt want anything to do with it any advice on how i can change his mind or should i give him time he likes cooked chicken but not raw so idk what the deal is with him ??? help please

 

Just don't give him anything else to eat kinda harsh but thats how I grew up. My dog eats what is in front of him because thats all he gets.

 

dunno , i have neve had that problem , mydogs will eat anything that is meat

 

I had one, that if wasn't kibble... She wouldn't eat it.

 

Do not feed him nothing except chicken for 5 days and lets see if he eats... Just put the part of the chicken raw in front of him. If he doesnt eat in 20 minutes. Put it back in the fridge.. And repeat... And if its like the 5th day and he didnt eat nothing for 5 days.. Then let me know.. That should make him learn to eat it or he goes hungry. Then Feed him the full diet after 2 days of him eating the chicken.. And hopefully he will eat all his food(including the chicken) from then on... Thats what I would do. good luck.

Its like starving kids. Give them a chicken which has been on the floor with bugs. They will eat it... Give me a chicken with bugs and I wont eat it even if i have to go without eating for a day or two.. But once i havent eaten in 5 days.. I would eat the hungry cuz ill be a hungry mofo and learn to tolerate it and such...

 

i have had neos that wont eat raw chicken.
I just give them other protein sources.

The dog will eat chicken eventually,he just isn't hungry enough yet.

alright guys thanx for the help i gave in tho he got kinda thin in his stomach and i felt bad he is an outside dog and he didnt even eat the chicken so i decided to give him cooked and raw piece by piece and he ate it that way so im going to give him other things raw like liver and such mixed witha bit of chicken and up the anty everytime but thanx for you help much appreciated

 

never thought a dog wouldnt eat chicken but i agree with theo. my dogs would prob eat a brick if i put it in their food bowl. missing a feeding or two will be worth it

spoilt little shit. dont starve him but dont feed him shit till he eats it. and whats four feeds to you? two days? four days?
what sort of chicken are you feeding him? necks? uncooked frames? meaty breasts?
minced frames?
could be anything mate realy, sounds like he is just a fussy spoilt brat, and if he doesnt want it youl give him something else, its worked in the past.

also you should be checking his stools too, if raw chicken upsets his stomach you should notice it in his stools.
another thing is that most pet food places and even butchers put a high level of preservatives in the raw dog food they sell, i know i used to own a petfood shop.
dogs have great noses and he may be able to smell the preservative in it. that can also upset some dogs stomachs.

Keep um hungry! An old timer once told me, Keep your dogs hungry! They do for you cause you feed them, and they work for there food! If you keep them hungry they'll eat monkey balls and worms if thats whats for dinner! And like it!!!!!!!!!

 

where does he usually have his meals at? as in location? you should try feeding it to him outside on grass or cement. My dog at first would only take it that way and not from her food bowl for some odd reason but now she is fine but it wouldn't hurt to try?:confused:

 

Boil your chicken and pull it off the bone and feed it to him. He WILL eat it. Once he's on the cooked chicken, transition to raw.
