Do you guys know the weight limit on your lap links? I was looking in a shop and the biggest was for 125kg (300lbs aprox) would that be big enough?

  7. If there is a large slope, you need some large timbers like cross ties or some concrete blocks to create a back border in order to build up the lower part of the slope.and create a flat surface.

what youre referring to is called a retainer wall. they make specific block for this with a lip to interlock each course, that way they can withstand the weight they will have against them when the wall is finished. the key to one is starting with a very very packed base, gravel or river rock, make sure your first course of block is perfectly level (itll show if it isnt every course afterwards), and dont forget to lay some perferated 4" tile alongside that first course ON THE INSIDE of the wall, that extends out each side for drainage. when you reach your desired height, fill with good black dirt. itll settle and you may have to add some more before its flat and packed. then add whatever surface you want for your dogs chainspot. i have done these for years and you couldnt imagine how many of these ive seen fucked up by the "do it themself" type people just because they watched a tv show on the home and garden channel.

To each thier own but I use treated lumber and build a deck with about 3/4" spacing between the decking boards. 24" off of the ground (3 courses of blocks) That way when straw/cedar chips/shit falls through you can reach under with a garden rake and keep the area clean.

It can sometimes be a little mucky while its raining but drains and drys good if you make sure the chainspot or area has a way to drain. Cheap and works good when done right.

Based on the number of stolen dogs, in the past and present, a desirable feature of a yard would be its ability to deter thieves.

I assume this would involve fences, barbed wire, mantraps, surveillance, motes, etc.

I would like to see setups that would prevent theft.

I think theonly yard that prevents theft is one no one knows how to locate. Idk we can't keep people from breaking into other humans homes and stealing so it will always be impossible to completely prevent dog theft. IMHO. Lol and i don't think the man trap thing worked out well for some

They sell an indoor outdoor camera system which has a 500GB DVR, 8 day/night vision camera's for a few hundred dollars. The system I looked at can support up to 16 camera's and can be mapped to your smart phone. Need to buy more cable but it would be worth the investment.
