You can get a certified service dog certificate online. All you have to do is check the box and send in money for the vest and certificate. I ran across this web site today http://www.servicedogsamerica.org/certification/index.html
IMO this is a scam these dogs should be evaluated by someone other than the owner.

    Is this for real?

To those of you with service dogs how did you qualify your animals?

I seriously doubt any business would take the risk of allowing an interest certified dog go anywhere near their patients. At least, I know I wouldn't take that chance...I have a feeling that is a scam.

interest certified dog go anywhere near their patients.

How would they know it an internet certificate? And its not a therapy dog; Its a service dog like it goes in stores with you and stuff like that. Not in hospitals in schools and stuff, but to accompany the handler anywhere

now i see a very good reason where i would have this.i could take a dog or 5 with me anywhere including hotels that don't take pets.[IMG] but now to take around sick people and such no i think that needs to be done the right way.but i think i am going to get 5 of mine done if this ain't a scam,so that way i can stay anywhere with them if i travel with them.

Either way it seems to be making way for some dangerous situations if the wrong person gets a hold of it.

Public posts like this probably doesn't help the situation in anyway but it's free advertising for them.

If you descide to do this Old Timer would you let me know how things went. Is it that easy to do it?

I wonder if places like Walmart would honor a certificate like that. This could be a bad tool in the wrong hands.

This is a bad tool for anyone who uses it falsely not just for the people in the wrong hands. These are for people who really need it not just so you can take your dog to walmart with you.

Well arent there legitimate places that evaluate these dogs that are going to be used as service dogs. I dont understand how you could just say yeah fido will sit and stay so he can be a service dog.

I am wondering if places that are used to seeing valid service dogs would honor this certificate. For example Walmart.

I work at a college and we have disabled students that use service dogs. One seeing eye dog in particular seems like she hasnt had any professional training. She drags the poor boy. (I wonder...Could she be an internet certified service dog?)

I just am curious as to how valid this certificate is?

Max... If someone needs a service dog I hope said dog has professional training and has been evaluated be someone who knows what they are doing.

i will let you know if i do this how it went.the only reason i would have this is to do like i said and thats to get a dog or few into a hotel that doesn't take pets, lol.kind of steep on the price though.
