Ok so I am new to the forum, had one of my dogs for 2 years the other for about 2 weeks, this is more so for the male(Kino) I want to find some tips on stregnth training him, get him a more muscular build...why you ask???.... no not to fight him or any dumb shit like that, I mean I just had him fixed so he wont make any puppies that may end up homeless...so that is obviously not the intention, but I do however enjoy working out and I have seen dogs with muscualr builds so I figure if I can go to the weight room there has to be something I can get my dog/dogs into that will make them more muscular...see my dogs are inside dogs, spoiled as in babied and well not much is expected from them other than protect the house and kids especially, but I do love to walk them so I would like it even more if they appeared to be in the best shape possible as that is my philosophy with my own appereance... I saw that add for the vitamins and I guess its supposed to help get thier bulk up.....should I try them?... any tips are apreciated...thanks alll........

Weight pulling... start with light weights, gradually increase. Same principle as with human bodybuilding.

Swimming is another great way to build muscle, also a spring pole would be another great idea. As you know to gain muscle nutrition is important so keep it in mind with the dogs.

I wouldn't use any supplements or vits. Just feed the best kibble you can find. Also like Grim said i like to take the dogs swimming. I dont like to use weights. I just dont feel its necessary when i could run them or swim em. Try finding a creek or stream and throw a ball into the fast moving water. That has really made a diiference in one of my dogs.

it will also depend on your dogs genetics, too. By working your dog you are getting rid of fat and toning.. it doesnt really bulk a dog up, it creates lean muscle. Many of the bigger looking dogs you see have a layer of fat on them .. a thicker bone structure helps, too

Im just saying dont be discouraged if your dog doesnt achieve a bulkier look.. lean muscle is what you want for a strong dog with endurance..

Welcome to this great site! I would cut my feed back to 2 cups a day and feed a high protien kibble. Swimming,Tug of War,Sled Pulling with a little weight on it and most of all walking your dog.

First off, you have to know not to compare humans to dogs.

Now, everyone is telling you to feed a high quality kibble. What they are referring to is something natural(assuming you're not familiar with BARF). Do a search for these top kibbles: "Dick Van Pattens"(Petco), "Canidae"(Canine Commissary), "Diamond", "Nutro"(Petsmart). Whether u live in an Apartment or a house, the easiest and proven way to build strenght and muscle is springpole. A springpole can be attached to a structure high off the ground with something like a tire or the dogs favorite toy that's durable. Make sure the dog has it's two back legs on the ground at all times for safety reasons. Walking builds stamina which goes hand in hand with strenght. The two combined are an easy and cheap way to build your dog up.

if you are yourself in shape as you say then you ar already half way there....break out your running shoes and a six foot lead...take off...unless your dog is obese and way out of shape to the point of being unhealthy, you will fall out long before him...LOL...the six foot lead and a good pair of running shoes is the greatest working tool a dog ever had....everything increases with long walks...toning, endurance, strength, the whole nine yards...a few days of the week, especially those when time is a constraint, put a harness on him and let him drag a three or four pound chain.....your dog will blossom.....and the bond you create is worth its weight in gold....good luck...scott
