i totally agree on creatine at least in human terms. i tried training on ephedra and my body leaned out crazy getting rid of all excess water but my vision again blurred and my intensity, although higher, lasted only a short amount of time.

Craetine can be used in moderation.

I believe there is no 1 Keep to follow. Every dog is different and needs different workouts based on what he needs to improve and on what his game is. Handwalking is a good pre-keep, but with it alone wont make him A1 ready for show. After a few shows, I'm sure you'll know what how to make your own keep.

Never used creatine on an animal, but used it plenty on myself, with no ill effects, besides extra water weight. Cut the creatine before your event, and you should be in the clear. I practiced and trained on it, but backed off my dosage during competitve weeks to almost nothing. Just like anything else, its not a wonder drug. Without hard work, all these supplements are useless, and if used incorrectly, they do much more harm then good. Most use them incorrectly on themselves, even more use them incorrectly on their animals just because they dont know any better.

Supplements are just that! They are suppose to supplement a diet of good natural whole foods! (or dog kibble LOL!) I believe all supplements are to be used in "moderation" but consistenly throughout the keep!

I always wondered why supplements can be used during the workout and for recovery but taken away during the nearing of showday! Some peopel say it makes the dog "run hot" but did it run hot during the keep?

I never used creatine in my dogs as I don't like the water weight-gain it can give and I think my charge can do with out it and still be in top condition!

If a person works their animal to peak before show, that person doesnt know how to get the dog optimized. As with any type of training, the process of keep is to get the animal to a place that it is ready to peak, because just like climbing a mountain, once you peak, you begin to descend. And if the animal is taken to peak before show, you will never really know what it was capable of. That is why there are several things warned about making a dog run hot. Principle here is same as a motor. It may have lots of horsepower, but if running hot, will not perform as it could. Their are many keeps that are written by older, more experienced men than I, and I would suggest studying them instead of trying to start my own religion on this. Some even tell you why they do what they do. Just my .02.
