    This is a DOOZY.

Full email from founder herself will follow, here's quick scoop:

Founder of DDB received call from a neighbor: chained dog was unable to move at XXX address, lying on back, couldn't get up.
Founder goes to address, removes ailing dog, vets the dog, and refuses to return it to the owners. Goes to jail.

    My oh my.
I don't condone anyone stealing/taking a dog from someone else's property for any reason when they are not home. Period.
No bones about it. Stay the hell off my property, at least until I get home.

Here's the thing: She did right by helping the dog, but wrong by taking the dog, right by documenting all her actions, wrong by refusing to return the dog to its owners. So...the line of rescuing and stealing has been erased here. She feels she rescued, but she stole someone's dog. The dog was not in need of immediate radical intervention, but certainly was in a bad way and it needed immediate attention brought to the situation- but to the owners first!

If people in this org (DDB)can camp out for 2 weeks in a contest "chain-off" to symbolize the misery of some chained dogs, why couldn't she wait right there on the front step of the house for the owners to come home? Watch the videos-the dog was growling at her once she got it home. Good intentions maybe, but stealing is stealing. Animal cruelty is animal cruelty. If they can prove the dog was suffering at the property, charge em both: the owners with cruelty and the founder of DDB with theft by taking.
This action by the DDB founder is extremism, no? I do not support radical AR actions AT ALL. Welfare certainly, but this seems to be radical.

    Here's the dirt:

    *********
OK, everyone, if you're getting this e-mail it means the police
followed through on their threat to put me in jail for taking
    Doogie
    today.

    Here is the background info:

We got a call from Kim in East Freedom this morning, crying
    because
Doogie hadn't gotten up since Saturday. She had been calling the
Central Pennsylvania Humane Society since Saturday to no avail. We
    told
her we aren't law officers, and she needed to call the humane
    officer.
Then we got another call about the same dog, from another person
    who
passes him every day. At that point we called Kim back to see if
    she'd
heard from the Humane Officer. She had not, so we promised her
    we'd go
out and see what we could do. When we got there, we took photos
    and
video of Doogie. We initially thought he was dead, as he was not
    moving
and his back was to us. We found out that the people were not home
    to
talk to about him, so I made the decision that he could not lay
    there
on the cold wet ground for one moment longer, and I would accept
    all
    consequences of my decision.

The neighbor Kim has agreed to testify on my behalf if necessary.
    She
cried the whole time we were there, you can hear her on the video.

I think once you see the video and pictures, you'll understand
    why I
    made this decision.

The vet documented his general negligent condition, low weight,
    sores,
missing fur, and took xrays of his back and hips. He determined
    that he
has very bad back spurs that are causing him a lot of pain and are
    most
likely responsible for his inability to walk. He also saw an
undetermined mass near his hip on the xray. He gave him a shot for
    pain
plus some B vitamins for energy, so that perhaps he could have
    even one
good day or a few good hours. He wrote a letter stating his
    condition
    in case we needed it.

Shortly after we got Doogie to my home, situated, bathed (had to,
    the
stench was too bad), and fed and watered an Officer Flag called
    from
the Freedom Township Police Department (I know, Freedom, isn't
    that
ironic?). He wanted me to return Doogie, which I refused to do.

Here's what I need from you all. View the videos and photos,
    below. I
think you'll agree with me that this is NOT acceptable in ANY kind
    of
humane society, and we cannot allow this kind of animal abuse. We
    MUST
stand up and STOP accepting this to be ok for people to do to
    their
dogs, and STOP jailing those who are trying to help them.

I could never look myself in the eye again, much less sleep
    tonight,
had I left Doogie there dying, shivering in the dirt. I will spend
    the
rest of my life in jail as opposed to handing him over to be
    abused
    further by these people.

Please, contact ALL media with these photos and videos. Get
    justice,
for Doogie and for me. Do NOT allow this treatment of those who
    are
here to help, and who actually care. Call the Pennsylvania Humane
Society and tell them you expect them to stand with me against
    this
    kind of abuse.

tolerating this kind of treatment, for either of us. No one should.

She stole a dog, didn't she? Like I said- charge the owners with cruelty (if the evidence suggests it) and her with swiping the dog.

I'm glad she got arrested these bleeding heart extremists need to learn a lesson. and that lesson is it is NOT ok to just waltz on someones property and STEAL thier dog because YOU dont like how it is cared for. If the dog truely was abused then she should have either A) waited till the owners got there and tried to talk to them or B) returned the dog after it was vetted like was requested and persued this matter in a legal way with her documented evidence.

Some of you know, I have been a DDB rep for a few years. I joined because of the opportunity to help dogs who are kept on chains and neglected. I have never pushed anti chaining legislation, or considered those who kept their working dogs on chains any of my affair. I have not resigned as a rep because I still do outreach work, and the group can cover the cost of some of the fencing I help build for those who cannot afford it. But the funding has always been minimal, and this incident has put such a bad taste in my mouth I am planning to resign as a rep. I cannot be a part of any org whose founder conducts themselves in this way. Up until now the pros and cons of being a rep were even, but now I feel my affiliation with them goes against my morals completely. I have NEVER backed AR extremism, and call me blind, but I never saw this org as radical at my level of involvement, up until now.
The perks of being a rep were my 501 eligibility to pull rescue dogs from shelters, but I do so little pulling its not worth having my name associated with DDB at this point.

So- I am formerly resigning as a DDB rep. I am officially "independant" as a rescuer now. It's not a very good feeling when you realize something you were proud to be part of -in the name of helping dogs- never really existed as you envisioned it. So buh bye DDB. Anything specific anyone thinks I should include in my resignation letter will be considered and most likely used.

I've been duped, and I know it. I'll be the first to admit I let the wool get pulled over the ol eyeballs with this one.

I dont think you should resign just yet. Make an example first, set the wheeels in motion for a different direction.....if thats possible. Who knows your influence may bring followers if nothing else in your favor.

I think she's where she needs to be. There are other ways to go about helping animals in need, rather than stealing them.

I don't really know anything about these DDB people, but it sounds as if they're just a PETA wannabe organization. And their camping out against chaining dogs and stealing animals because they may not agree with an owners actions sound exactly like a page taken out of the PETA handbook.

So I say screw the dingy woman and her group.

  10. i hope she gets prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.i dont care what is going on unless i am home you have no right to enter my property and take my dog with out my consent and then tell me i cant have him back.i tell ya if it was me and she took my dog and refused to give it back i would be showing up there with a shotgun demanding that my dog be returned.i dont condone leaving a dog to die on a chain like that but still you dont trespass on someone elses property unless you have a warrent.i hope she gets the book thrown at her.

Lovin' Bullies,..... I am so very proud of you!! Ya know, alot of folks refuse to see the truth about something they are involved in, to their demise, and you clearly are very teachable. So what if it takes some of us time. I have never gotton anything right the first time around!! HA HA. I dont think you should 'stick around'. If you want to show activision upon something, stand up and make a fight against organizations that pretend to be a sheep, but in fact ar wolves in sheeps clothing.

If laws were enforced as they were back in the day, this kind of junk wouldnt take place. They call it humane, but prefer to see a dogs rights taken care of rather than peoples(humans). I hope she rots. There would have been a time that the woman would have hung for stealing another persons dog.

I wonder what her and her crying friend would have done, had the owner come home and seen the condition of the dog and went in the house and came out with a .22 and put it out of its misery? (I am not defending said owner, I havent even seen the video.I am on dial up, takes too long).

Oh,, I think it is time for Suki to start an organization that will bind all of us dog OWNERS together and begin to really fight this crap. There is power in numbers, and there is a heck of allot more of us than there is them. We just need to quit bickering amongst ourselves, and vote in a trusted leader, I nominate Suki!! Suki for president of the ARMeD(Animal Rights Movement Destroyers!) Death To the Commies!!

Oh, ...ahem... I am sorry , I got carried away!!(head drops as his shoulders slump, and he slowly climbs down off his soapbox with hands barried in pockets, and drifts off into the distance!)

LOL! You're a nut! Tx for the smile! :)

and yeah, admittedly, we DO need something! but I'd make a really $hitty president=I'm too emotional, suck at public speaking and have a hard time giving orders...

Heck I am good at that every president has a good spokesman. I am your man. I like telling it like it is, giving orders and deligating autority. You can stand there and look pretty and official and I will be the tyrant. lol

Well Suki, there's two of us behind you. I dont mind taking orders from a worthy captain either. You do the head work, and we'll do the foot work. I dont have the time to read all the stuff and keep up on it, but I do have the time for action. And I am a preacher, so I know how to run my mouth. We'll leave the covert operations in Brother Attila's hands, I say lets do it!!! Before we lose it!

Who else is with us? Time to put up, or shut up!

Now Now, you are very modest, which will make you a great president. I am serious about this. I even have experience in setting up a 501C3 non profit organization. When we started our ministry everyone said I needed a lawyer, but the Lord gave me wisdom and I got it all approved all the way through the IRS (and that was a monkey, let me tell you!!). We just need to figure out what our mission will be and write it out. What we need to do is get us a committee of about 7 folks. We have already nominated you as president. You'll need at least two advisors on the board of directors, a secrtary and a treasurer. We need to get like on IM or something and have a meeting about purpose. We need to state the vision plainly, and write it down(secretary).

We can do this. If we do this, they will fall!! We cannot stand on the sidelines and one day wake up and have our bulldogs taken from us.

Suki Suki, she's our woman, if she cant do it, nobody can!!!
