50%gamedog x 50%showdog

Just wanted to know if anybody had some experience or know something about half game half showdog in the hunting scene....

half the dogs people think are show dogs are not,people see the Pr. or RE. in the peds. and go crazy.not refering to the blue;but people need to start looking at the dog and not the pedigree.

WELL NOT REALLY MY CUP OF TEA BUT THIS GIRL HERE DOESN'T HAVE THE PRETTIEST PEDIGREE IN THE WORLD BUT SHE IS GAME AS THE DAY IS LONG WILL NOT QUIT FOR NOBODY OR NOTHING SO FAR. i am not familiar with the top side that much but somebody knew or thought something of the helious dog cause they inbred him the right way.

This dog is GAME bred

 

We have Scot-lin on our yard, they were bred for weight pulling, but they are mainly OFRN, we have to keep ours separated completely from the other dogs, they like no dog, they don't discrimate, color, sex, doesn't matter to them. But they are great with people, very loyal, very obedient, very loving, hard working. They were definately bred to old standards.

Winmor Kennels and X-pits has a few of the old Scot-lin dogs, they aren't really out there anymore, the line was pretty much wiped out except for a few that people got before the rest were put down. They are really great dogs though. Our little Phoenix has taken MWPP several times, ADBA and UKC.

 

Just curious.. why the interested in a 50% "game" and 50% "show" breeding?? There are Plenty of 100% "game" dogs that have been show dogs, too .. CH Gambler, CH Dutchess are 2 right off the top of my head.. yes, game bred dogs CAN be pretty ,too lol

and runt is correct... just because the dog has PR in the title doesnt mean squat ... to this day there are still "game bred" dogs that are UKC reg and have so many generations of it's ped registered UKC thus "earning" the all coveted title of PR ...

 

CH. MANOLO is a pit CH as well as a conformation Ch dog.

Irish Jerry bred him. I saw him in Palatka, Fl. Dec. 2004. very nice looking dog. as far as 50 showdog and 50 gamedog, i wouldnt try it. go for a gamedog with good conformation.

 

Im not talking about a breeding, just curius...:cool:

 

Sorry i thought we were talking about who succeded in the show ring and won in the box. Like "The Watcher" said stick to game bred dogs that have good conformation. I got a girl (sophi) that is exactly like that.
