I have to admit it that gamebred apbt has no place in dog parks. As a responsible owner, I wont go that far in taking chances.

dog parks are bad for ALL dogs. i went to a dog park 1 time when my one dog was 4 months old to "socialize" him. yeah bad idea. a lab attacked him. and I saw 2 other fights within 10 min. also I have clients at work that have told me dog park horror stories. BAD IDEA !!!!

  4. i took my pup to a dog park once and let me tell you., compared to the other dogs there he was trying to play with , i learned that our APBT's are way to aggressive and have alot of tolerance for pain and being ruff.. so as in being ruff with other dogs thats where the issue comes in. dogs fights! .. i had to take my pup out because the other dogs were freakn sissies and gettin all mad and the owners i can tell where getting all upset how my pup was ruff playing with there dogs.

i did, until last time me and my boyfriend took our two pits to the dog park 10 min from my house... 30 min after we got their another pit attacked a little jack rusell ( it was the jack's fault by the way)... the jack bit the pit on the lip and the pit grabbed him by his little throut and started shaking her head... both dogs were ok... its just the fact that everyone was like "OHHH MY GOD, ITS A PITBULL!!!" .... no one said anything to us but we didn't want to make other people feel uncomfortable... plus, we felt really uncomfartable.....i just felt terribly bad for the owner of the other pit, he was really kind and apologizing but no one understood except me and my boyfriend(the pit was the sweetest dog ever, i was even playing with her, but dogs will be dogs....) :(

I vote no because I get bad looks just going into petsmart. Other owners just look at her and go the other way or scoot to the side as much as they can. My pitbull is only 5 months and she is a baby. And if I were to take her to a dog park with the amount of energy she has, I sure some owner will get upset, or another dog is going to get upset from my dog running circles around her and try something. There is just too much to think about with my dog and other owners. SO NO.

When I went to the dog park near the house it was the first time I had done so. The park was TOTALLY deserted. It was cool because I let all six of the dogs (my grandmas dogs went too) off their leashes and walked all the way around this huge place with them. The minute some other lady pulled up with her kids and her dogs ALL of the dogs went back on leashes and into the agility part of the park for awhile. I am going to take Dozer to teach him agility though, because it is free.

  10. No, because of the ignorance now days, people act all scared and stupid when they see a pit.

  11. Well, I guess if you mean a Dog Run, then no but a regular park? Yes. I do not believe APBT should be placed freely together with other dogs but do believe an APBT is fine in the people section of the park. Remember, all dogs must be leashed at all times. That is the rule in most places. As long as each owner leashes their dog, we should all be OK.

F the looks, we and our dogs have the same rights as any bigot. People will get tire of looking and begin learning what APBT are really all about. Seeing is believing.

Again, Dog-Run park is not a good idea but a regular park is fine!

I live a vary short drive lake michigan and we here in muskegon are lucky enuf to have a beautifull 3/4 'of a mile stretch of beach designated as a dog park. Not one like it for milles and milles in any direction. I condition my dog for weight pull there by going to the top of one of the many huge sand dunes and throwing sticks/ball/toy down to the bottom. he will retreve it and run back up the dune as I encurage him yelling pull. he will do this untill he flops. great exersise. we have used this park since he was a pup. because of this park he is completly socilized. no dog aggrsion. no human aggrsion( he is a house dog,he dosent "WORK") At this park I have been able to change alot of ignorant peoples minds about our great breed. However I would not recomed that anyone bring a dog thy know to be dog/ dog agressive to a dog park. That would be a accedent waiting to happen.

I said no. I always walk in the people section of the park with my dogs on leash. The problem is that a lot of people let their dogs off leash in the people section of the park. It's common here.
Last week, I was walking in the park with my dogs on leash when a German Shepard came in front of us. Her owner was behind the dog shouting at me "Don't worry !! She is nice with other dogs !!" Uh Uh ! The thing the owner didn't see is that her dog was showing her teeth to my dogs !! :D Stupid woman ! I had to move back because the Staffie didn't appreciate the beautiful white teeth of the dog... and keep cool not to tell the woman what I was thinking about her at the moment...

too many dogs regardless of breed in one space especially if a couple are intact can cause massive drama. ive never had a problem with any of the bulls ive been around but my mutt gets livid when she gets crowded. i think its an accident waiting to happen. i take mine out with one other dog on the weekend and they play in a field by themselves under very close supervision. i get nervous being around that many free roaming dogs that i dont know id imagine my dogs do too.

nope, don't like 'em. They're a breeding place for diseases, and an environment that has no control. Too much can happen WAY too quickly....

I think dogs parks are a bad idea for any breed too. You don't know what kind of infectious diseases the other dogs might have.
Like (I believe it was Jenn) said , too many "oops" can happen. I know my Saint Bernard has accidentally knocked me down and he wasn't even jumping...He has also bonked one one my small dogs on the head with his paw in playing and she yiped, can be dangerous for a small dog esp. if it has an open fonatel...
And I have been bitten by too many little dogs as a groomer too feel safe around them...hahaha
And finally ya just never know what could set your dog off. When I take my pits anywhere I have and always will carry a parting stick in my sock (so it's hidden.) But I never want to have to use it in public.
    P.S. Great Poll Question! :D

I personally like going to parks where there are dogs (the local ones, where the are usually no more than 3-4 dogs playing around). They are not exactly designated dog parks, but they allow my 4 month old to socialize with other dogs. Also, then i don't have to do any work. I can just stand around and watch her slowly drain herself of energy.

I am all for it. There has been this one time when he growled at another pit, but many other dogs have done the same. I believe it is good way to socialize your dog with other dogs and people. Then again, it all depends on the dog. My dog loves to play with other dogs, but he plays rough.
