I am not surprised after all the American people elected Bush. It don't get any dumber than that. This country elected a man who's father told a mother of a MIA at a press conference who ask Bush senior what was being done to find MIA to sit down and shut up because it was none of her business. If it was not her business then who the hells business is it? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

First, While the video is funny, and while I'm not saying these people are probably the smartest, sometimes when you catch people off guard, and stick a camera in their face, their brains go blank. It's like a form of stage fright. Also, you don't know how many people they have gone around asking. If the point of the video is to make certain people look dumb, then the Editor is going to take all the dumbest answers he can find, and put it in. It's basic editing skills. It's like the Michael Moore method, all put in what you want people to hear, and leave out the rest....
Secondly, I think humans, in general, are pretty dumb. That is why I hate that Ditech commerical that says, "People are smart," because people rarely are smart...
Also, if you really want to get into the basic problem and let's say, that even if the editor put everyone, there were all stupid answers. The problem is our public education. As Neal Boortz says, "Public education should be considered child abuse." That is one of the main issues that neither party wants to fix, and it's an issue that really makes me mad. It's a sad fact, and hopefully someday, we'll be able to fix it, but for now, it is what it is...
But if there is one thing I can't stand it's self-hate, and it seems like a bunch of Americans are now starting the trend of "I hate Americans" or basic American bashing. It gets me a bit angry. I am not saying you have to be like "I love every little thing America does and it's better than everywhere and anyone else," because that would be a bit much. But to be completely down on America isn't all that great either. If you are saying "Americans are dumb," and you are a citizen of America, then aren't you calling yourself dumb? This self-hatred is like the trend many white people have taken on. I am not for any race thinking they are superior to another, because that too is just asinine, but I also can't stand how white people have become ashamed for being white and always think whites are wrong...
Also, to the "I am not surprised after all the American people elected Bush. It don't get any dumber than that", then I guess I'm an idiot, but in both of those elections, it was between the lesser of the two evils, and I'm sorry, GW Bush to be was the lesser of the the evils in both cases, in my opinion. Say what you will, but I can't image how different our country would have been had Al Gore President on 9-11...
"This country elected a man who's father told a mother of a MIA at a press conference who ask Bush senior what was being done to find MIA to sit down and shut up because it was none of her business. If it was not her business then who the hells business is it? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." I don't remember ever hearing about that. Not saying it's not true. You obviously heard and saw it, and I would understand why it would make you mad. I do know people who had USMC buddies who served on Air Force One, and they have all said how incredibly nice the Bushs were to them. They have also told me how horrible the Clintons and Gores treated them. They said that they acted like snobs toward the Men. As for the current Bushs, my cousin's finacee flies Air Force One, and he says that they are very nice people. I heard from many Marines, that the "Punishment duty" is to have to go to Hillary, and that most want to go with Laura. So, if we are going by personality, the Bushes won the hearts of those service people...
Sorry to the OP, I have certain things that get my goat...I thought the video was funny. Thanks for sharing it.

The VDO is funny and does make American's out to be stupid, but it's trying to do both. It's from Australia, the real butt of the joke are Australians, many of whom believe the USA is deeply concerned about them because of their unquestioning support. Truth is many American's think Australia is Iran, which they would happily invade or bomb.

Actaully such a vdo could be filmed anywhere, just a matter of waiting for enough stupid answers.

It's a scary world we live in, everybody pointing guns and bombs at everyone else, without knowing FA about them.

never underestimate the power of stupidity en mass. surely someone would appreciate people willing to blindly follow them, but who would do that????????? certainly not anyone in this country.

Don't blame Americans in general. Blame your education system that passes these kids on and lowers the standard of learning that has been declining in general for years now. Nobody reads the papers or watches news channels anymore. They are too dam concerned with a sitcom or some idiot music video. The last time I tried to have a conversation with a coworker about world events and leaders, they didn't have a clue. Dam sad. My own kids are seriously lacking in world news because it isnt considered politically correct to tell the truth in schools now. Sorry, had to vent.

  13. Are Americans stupid...probably not. I attritube the apparent lack of education to laziness, and what has been called the good life and its discontents. Basically, people have become so spoiled in our society that they have become disillusioned to reality. It is not as important for joe public to know geography, etc...because it's not a necessity. I had an interpreter in Iraq that spoke five languages. This was out of necessity. He spoke one language at home, two others at school, and two others just to play with other kids, or shop in his city. Speaking several languages in that setting is normal, but in America...heck no. lack of neccessity.

  14. Amen to that.....I never tell anyone first off that I live here.....it sucks, and is
embarrassing.....when they ask where I am from, I tell them the truth...TEXAS....that is where I am FROM....I just happen to live here now.:D

  15. Ijust decided to watch this...and while I stand behind my first post through and though...This was video was stupid....and a lame attemp to make the USA look slighty dumber they are!

Like I already stated, and will again, Humans in general are stupid, not just Americans. I was in a formula 1 site, and a guy from the UK asked, "Where is Monaco?" Two people answers where the dumbest in the world. The first guy was from the UK, his answer was North Korea. The second guy was from Australia, and his answer was Africa. Then when someone posted a map, the guy who answered, "Africa" tried to act like he knew the whole time, and made a jab at America, which pissed me off, because that's all they ever do.
