If the dog was a good one. Thats why you have some top studs with a loss on his record
see people have it all wrong the old timers wasnt doing it for fun just to see a show it was for the betterment of their strain to see what was good and what wasnt
and thats why it was a sport and not a past time
so if 60,000 was on the line and I was behind with no bad signs at 2hrs I would pic up without a doubt you cant win them all but you can lose a good one hopeing he can come back

  3. You cant compare human mma to matching dogs...humans go in the cage by choice. So lets stop that bs.

I knew a few true dogmen ( im not nor claim to be ) and every last one of them were heartless sob's. So lets not sugar coat shit. They look at dogs as property. Had no problems slitting a curs throat or shooting it. If a substantial amount of money was at stake that damn dog was staying in there only way he was coming out was either a winner or dead.

No one is picking up a "good" dog if he is losing...cause he aint that "good" then. ..game or not.

I dont know what matches you've seen or been to..stop reading whats printed.....

? I dont know where you been but seems like wherever that is they dont appreciate the dogs.
You made a very broad statement and lumped everyone in there. do you really think thats right?
of course there are ppl like that but I dont think they are dogmen, they are money men.

are you saying dogs dont "go" by choice? thats b.s. ,and the few men i know are anything but heartless sobs, they live for the dogs. its very apperent in the time they spend w/them. and i dont mean readying a dog for a hunt, im talking about the time on the couch in the house and time spent enjoying a new litter of pups. i know a guy who right now is bottlefeeding a litter of pups and cant leave his house for more than an hour or so. there is no sugarcoating there, its the truth.

Mr. Officer, your judging all old skool dogmen from a group of guys you once knew! You sound just like a cop labeling the whole neighborhood cause it known for drug dealings never thinking there might be a good christian family on every corner.

The dogs do have a choice when shown by the RIGHT people, They can turn anytime they feel they need to, they can also jump the box or stand the line and take the count, Have you ever seen a real show? It seems that you haven't because them dogs want to be there and more times than not are screamin to be let go. The problem is you get a$$holes that don't do right for their dog and will leave them in when the dog is looking for every route out. You generilized a whole group of people with what you wrote, do you also believe all black people sell drugs and all mexicans are lazy? You seem like the type of person that likes to judge a whole group for what a few bad apples do.......

Hes more right than wrong on that account. When a man had a yard full and had the brothers and sisters of said match dog he had no room for game losers.Unless of coarse he's a puppy peddler in witch case he would match a dog for $200.If he won would sell the dog for $2,000 or more to those that are too afraid to match one,or if he is losing pick the dog up before he quits and sell him as a game loser for $1,000.Its all about "the story".These are the guy's that are too lazy to work a real job. Some old timers would pick up if a dog showed deep gameness then they would breed to him.In that way they would improve there line,a line they would back with HARD earned money.

WOW dont get your panties in a bunch hunny I was only saying that most of the oldtimers at one time or another left there charges down too long.Where do you think the stories of incredable gameness come from?Ya know, the ones YOU like to read about.
Let me ask you this has anyone here ever put a dog down? Then in the eyes of John Q you are a heartless SOB.
Somehow you think I am condoning leaving a dog down too long.Thats not the case as a matter of fact its just the opposite. But to think that the true dogmen NEVER left one down too long is just plain wrong. These men worked very hard for there money and would not just give it away. Its a very tough game and its not for everybody.Thats why we have dog shows.
