who was whitey ford?

Anyone know anything about a dog named whitey ford. I think he was matched in the seventies. My dad was talking about him the other day, but didn't remember how he was bred. Says he was a dog of the year or something, and won 8 contests. I looked online and found an article about a dog with that name and a similar story, but it was written in itallian( I had to use an online translator) and it didn't give any info on his ped or history. Seems strange that an eight time winner would be lost to history like that. I guess maybe he just didn't have alot of offspring so there isn't much talk about him today. Who knows? I figured some of the oldtimers on this thread might remember the dog and could give me some info. Thanks again guys.

Thanks I guess. I have to disagree though, I've been on here for a while now, and have seen an abundance of knowledge shared on this site. That said I don't really go to other apbt forums, did you have any in mind when you sugested that I ask elsewhere? Thanks
