Jobs!!!! Where Are They!!!

Man I would think that a five year army veteran thats been to Korea, and OIF3 could find a decent job rather easy,.........SIKE! WTF is going on. Who knows a LEGAL way or knows a company hiring I can contact and get my hands on some money. This $4.30 gas is killin my pockets and the Chevy stay thirsty. HELP.LOL!

 

Dont know where your located but I work at a casino and we are always hiring, might not be the kind of work your looking for but its an honest way of earning...

LMAO! I'm from Houston, just got out the army and haven't came home yet but I told my wife thats where its at. The jobs and good dogs LOL. Thanks though that may have been the post I needed to here.

 

I just got back from a job in Houston yesterday and that is what everyone there was telling me.

Most of the people that I talked to swore that their economy isn't hurting at all. Sounds nice!

 

I wish I knew. I have had a hard time finding a job as well. I am ready to just settle for a Wal*Mart job or something to be honest.

Houston has a ton of things going for it: First, our economy is highly diversified, high tech, medicine, etc. Oil is only 7% although oil is booming right now. While unemployment is high everywhere else, it is extremely low here. There is a spillover affect. Just regular service and labor type jobs are good.
I swear, I can't get the spoiled kids where I live to wash my cars for less than $14 an hour. I was paying 12 and the kids would quit because they can get $9 an hour for an easy job sitting on their a@#.

Now that I have some time off I am washing my owns cars, but when I was teaching a double load up until this Friday ha didn't have time and had to pay. The point is there are lots of good paying jobs here if you are willing to work.

My best friend, who owns a car wash was paying his manager $60K per year to manage the place. It is a hard job (starts at 6AM everyday) but 60K, come one. And the guy was an ex con. My buddy hired him right out of the pen and in 2 years he was manager. One day they had an argument and the guy walked off the job because he knew he could get another.

 

I didnt know this many people on here were from Houston or near by!!! KBR is always hiring but to be honest I couldnt take the hard labor!!! lol Call me what you want but being in those plants with all that gear on will almost make ya have a heat stroke with our weather!!! But KBR is always hiring, hell Budweiser will pay for you to get yur CDL and train you (at their expense!!!) Coke always hiring drivers, Kroger distribution center, Wal-Mart distribution center (it's in new caney), Its really just depends on what you want to do, they out there.. Oh yea, I used to work at the bank check into that they have like maintience jobs that pay damn good, shit i almost took off my slacks and tie and went to some dickies! lmao
