Like I've said before on previous raw threads...variety of meats is best, & what I've done for years!!!

Watch this whole video...they touch on the topic of horse meat, 1 of many meats, & fats they feed!

Horse meat is more uniform in lean fat content compared to other meats for the simple reason most horse meat for pet food is from unwanted or injured horses.
    SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF..............
Horse meat can contain prohibited drug residues if a race horse is used, Horse meat can result in red meat allergies in some dogs.
Horse meat is lower in Protein and fat compared to standard lean beef, however it can contain higher levels of Calcium,Iron,Copper and Vitamin E (IF.......the horse has been supplemented with these before slaughter......) Because Horse meat is low in fat it can have as much as 35% lower energy content on average compared to lean beef.
when introducing horse meat to a diet it is best to change over a period of 7-10 days by blending 50:50 horse meat and lean beef or what is currently beeing fed.

  3. Hell I even eat it myself! And if the dogs are lucky they might get some too.
I know that in the US and UK it is frowned upon but you should seriously try it one day, cook it like you would fry a steak in butter, season with salt and pepper and enjoy.

Venison is definitely one of my favorite meats to feed. Totally natural, no hormones, or antibiotics pumped in it like with most beef. Red meat is loaded with creatine to!
I would feed my dogs horse if it was readily available.

Never fed horse meat but where I used to live had a lot of wild donkeys and camels that I used to shoot for dog meat. Similar fat content, dogs loved it I admit I tried both. Camel is nice but I'm not a fan of donkey haha
