Skull or Frisco??

Not tryin' to start anything...but to me, Lock-n-Loads Hatch (in the ped posted) doesn't even look like an APBT, let alone a representative of that blood. JMO.

Anyways, I am partial to the Chinaman/Frisco part of that dogs pedigree...and yes, that stems from ownership bias as well

Thats funny you said that, someone else said the same thing. But if you look at skull offsprings most of his litters were black and then you had the seldom dirty red dogs ie. Durango Red. Skull crusher from white oak kennels is lock n load's Hatch full brother litter mate and he is the same color just different markings. The dam had strong genes. LOL!

 

what im trying to say is you go to boudreaux yard the source of the skull what was the last dog that he himself worked on his yard?? none. Go to the source of frisco blood which is garner and you got some nice working dogs. Im sure theres other people who got nice boudreaux dogs but if youre going to the source then id rather go wit frisco.

 

What the bigger question would be how many working dogs has he produced???? Your a fool to not acknowledge the impact of JUST the dogs down from skull in the show ring.... So what if his personal dogs were not worked and campaigned.... They proved them selfs to the man that bred them for a reason, and proved them selfs to the people that got the dogs more times than not.

The man had a very high set of standards and the blood line didn't become one of the best in the world on chance.

 

If you don't like FB dogs that's fine but don't try to insult and undermine the blood by acting like a snake in the grass...

I don't have stock to either blood cuz I have only one dog with both this blood on the top half of his ped.

 

And frisco hasnt had an impact on the showring???? Im a fool for believing and being confident in the blood of my choice??? a question was asked ,what do you prefer, and i stated my opinion. I didnt insult anyone and dont feel insulted when people say that frisco is bad. Same reason why floyd feeds and breeds his dogs cuz he thinks they are the best. Im definetly not trying to take anything away from the fact that the man is a legend and has left a very big mark on the history of our breed. I am just speaking on what i have been taught, a friend was offered free dogs from boudreaux which they did not accept out of respect and the fact that nothing really caught their eye. I have confidence in my animals and the way thaT i am going and if i didnt believe the people who helped me then that just shows i dont believe in myself or my dogs. im not trying to argue back and forth just clarifying my original post and what i meant by it.

 

First you aint getting any off Boudreux now any way. 2and hes forgott more about working a dog than you will ever know and just that he was an old man dont meen shit. Back to the post Skull dogs are a fine strain and so is frisco its all up to you. I like the eli type dogs my self they are very out going and hard dogs. J

I prefer the skull dogs over Frisco, to a great degree. I have them crossed into nigerino and I cant say enough. When they are bred right, they are a total package, but when diluted, just like anything else. However, the skull dogs, unlike the nigerino's, do not have to be crossed to get the octane. Of course that is kinda splitting hairs as they are both eli dogs, just different strains. I have also seen them cross well with some tight bred Carver dogs.

On a side note, and I really dont care if this offends you, I'd take a yard off FB's yard if he was so old he had a wooden leg and a kickstand before I'd take a dog off Garner's yard.:eek: I have fed Frisco dogs, and Chinaman dog's and they simply didnt work out for me. What I have found is that these skull dogs, when bred right, are not for the timid. Had a fella got one from me, and warned him about the dog, and when that dog was 1 1/2 years old he couldnt take it anymore. She was just to smart and active for him. You dont occupy their time, they'll occupy you!!

 

I agree with you which is why i got frisco stuff crossed up, pure frisco isnt exactly what I like.

 

Never said frisco didn't have an impact, never said skull was better or that frisco was shit...

In fact the dog I have has more Frisco blood (via Rebel yell bred to another Frisco bred bitch) than F.B. Blood in his pedigree.

I'm argueing with what and how you stated your reason.... And it was disrespectful.

I don't care if you don't care for FB blood, and I'm not going to bitch and mone if you down right don't like it and state REAL reasons why you don't like it...

Frisco blood and Skull blood are bred two totally different ways.

The skull blood comes from a loosER pedigree up front and goes back to a solid and very tight background family.

The frisco dogs are the opposet very tight up front and loosER as you go back farther.

And IMO is why they cross so well.
Your opinion is not at fault each of are entitled to our own. But be mindful with the words you use when letting people know it.

 

Thats just for you folks out there that think a dog has to be crossed out to perform.

 

That last line says it all !!! They do occupy you !! LOL!! My wife and I can vouch for that. The Skull dogs have their own personality even though they might have slight differences among them they all act a whole lot the same. They are a handful of irritating, goofy, powerful, athletic, hard mouth having, screaming, whining, funny, smart, semi-hardheaded, destructive and sneaky acting little rascals !! I love my three to death.
