When it comes to rock and roll, my daddy raised me right "respect your elders" I love classic rock. When every band had their own sound and they didn't sound like the same song you heard on the radio before that was by another band.

Sooo....I'm going to do some original bands through the decades. I know I'm going to leave a lot out so you guys better add! :p

    1960s-1970's (in no particular order)

The Doors (Jim is my idol he's a poet turned rockstar like I want to be)

Led Zeppelin (one of my earliest memories of rock bands)

Pink Floyd (dad used to say if you don't eat your meat you can't have any pudding! Seriously I've listened to pretty much every Floyd album and have liked every single song they ever wrote)

The Beetles (I liked their later stuff better than the early, love the yellow submarine movie)

Lynard Skynard (good ol southern rock)

    Ozzy (Black Sabbath and Solo)

Alice Cooper (actually seen him in concert few years ago)

    The Eagles (just good music)

Fleetwood Mac (male and female vocals differing on songs.. nice)

    Jethro Tull (just like em)

    1980's

    More Ozzy!

AC/DC (which actually started late 70's)

Guns and freakin ROSES! (think the way I typed the name describes how I feel)

Def Leppard (pretty much like all their songs)

    METALLICA (goes without saying :)

    Motely Crue

    Damn Yankees

    Journey (dont stop believin!)

Foreigner (are they technically 70's or 80s?)

The Scorpions (love em love em!)

1990's Man the 90's I was just a kid growing up yet I grew up hearing all these great bands. The 90's was a good time for music, not to sure about the last 10 years or so...

    Ok so 90's

Alice in Chains ( I LOVE THIS BAND rates on the top of my list, I'm listening to the unplugged album right now :)

Nirvana (Kurt Cobain he was great didn't he join the 27 club? RIP)

Red Hot Chili Peppers (very original sound)

Rage against the machine (rates very high on my top list)

Stabbing Westward (most people have no idea who I'm talking about but they are great)

Sublime (original yet again... singer taken too soon once again)

White Zombie/Rob Zombie (just good ol rock and roll)

Tool (love em they rival for my #1 spot but I don't have a #1)

The 2000's Well there are some original bands out there still but most don't get radio play

Coheed and Cambria (I'm going to see them tomorrow night with Slipknot)

    Slipknot (said it above)

Death Cab For Cutie (emo but good)

Alright theres some good rock education. Add discuss debate and have fun!

I agree with the eagles being just good music. I recently went to see them with my father in law and was surprised just how many songs I knew, and I'm only 26.

OMG yep I left out Boston I love them... and REO speedwagon. I can not wait til tomorrow... Less than 24 hours to wait for my first coheed show! Oh god I'm so excited.

BTW I'm 22.... The Eagles came twice... but they wanted over 100 dollars for the crappy seats.. thats just wrong to me when I saw Robert Plant solo (lead singer for zeppelin) and he did zeppelin songs and tix were 35 bucks! Now I know the eagles aren't better than Plant!
