Hammonds line..

A council, from Turkey you had to take a car and to go directly and personally on Russia, on Ukraina, on Greece or surely on Italy to take personally a dog derivating from old Hammonds stock throught eli basilar cross of the old CH Spike (aka Ironjo), i think that on Europe there is not pure Hammonds dogs if not some singular cases, you'll more easy found a Hammonds'-Irons working lines....

T.B. V. The Plumbers

Males at 58 lbs.

Both black dogs. Plumbers dog came in two pounds over the weight and pay forfeit. T.B. is using a full brother to the Sampson dog, this one is called Satan.
Satan works stifle and the dogs do alot of wrestling - the Plumbers dog handled by L.C., works the legs. The Plumbers dog is called Gator.
A turn at 22 minutes on the Satan dog. Gator gets a front leg when the dogs meet on the scratch.
Niether dog biting hard and they both change holds frequently.
Pick up at 39. Satans tail did not look good on pick up. Gator made a good scratch.
Pick up and Satan made a good scratch. Pick up at 45 and Satan made Gator come all the way across to make a good scratch.
Pick up at 45 and Satan stood on his scratch line and was counted out.
Gator the winner in 46 minutes.

i dont know anything about the dogs in the 2nd generation or further back, but he does. i do know there is no room for mediocre dogs on the yard, and everything has to earn its chainspot including that hammonds bitch he bred to butterbean.

to be honest i don't know who bred him but i know that it mixes well with the stuff i got ie: alligator/nigerino.

 

I had the pleasure of meeting him once at his house. Great guy. First class gentleman. Gave me a tour of his yard without even knowing me. I spent 3 hours there talking dogs with him. He use to keep a patterdale dog on a 15 foot chain by his front door. He said it was his house alarm. If you got to close it would start barking and screaming and that would let him know someone was there. He said the patterdale dogs were the gamess dogs alive.

He keeps around 130 - 150 dogs on about 1 1/2 to 2 acres of land. It was fucking packed! There was nowhere to walk. I got there around 5 pm and he was about to feed his dogs. He fed them one cup of dog food a two slops of home made stuff. It looked like beef stew. All of his dogs look to be in really good condition, but I shit you not they were all no more than 2 feet apart from each other. You had to walk on a trail inbetween the dogs in order not to get bit. If you step just one foot off the trail you would encounter a dog, and his exact words were, "you step off that rail one of them will bite you". I was freaking out especially knowing how hard those Alligator dogs bit! Wildest thing I"ve ever seen and I have visited Floyd's old yard and it was nothing like this. He had a lot of dogs there from many bloodlines; but he did love talking about his Rufus dog. He invited me in and I spent about an hour just chatting with his entire family.

It was a great experience and thinking about it now I regret not ever going back to visit his yard; especially since I live in Texas. :confused:

Yes, he's one of the true gentlemen in the game. A real top notch fella! He e-mails me every know and again when he has a breeding on the ground. I've yet to get one from him but it's on the top of my to-do list.

 

Miss Prance ROM is a heavy Hammond's dog also by Rufus through Park Son.

GH has since thinned down his yard. 2 feet apart is not exactly acurate, it's a little further than that.

WHo hasn't yet please read his book its tremendous... Gary is one of the most noble person I have ever met, funniest too. On top of that he is so knowledgible as far as animal health is concerned. And I am so happy I live about 15 minutes away from him.
