  1. I couldnt help but notice how some of the pictures that ppl put up are portraying their dogs as prize property that will boost their ego. Some even show their dogs on big chains. I love seeing the pictures of people enjoying their animals on here but when you see one with its collar rammed up its neck, on the end of a big chain, or pups being held by the scruff of their necks it irritates me. Does this site allow dogfighters and the like to be apart of it? What is everyones feelings about this?

wtf.....for most people on here their dog's are their prized property well at least mine are.....and as far as the big chain thing goes......u try using a wal-mart chain on one of these dogs and see where that gets you....this is not a site for dog fighters ....... just full of people who dont get along with people like you.....

  4. thats why you train your dogs. mine dont need no leash and have never been chained. And you dont need a 50 lb chain for any dog.

  5. and of course i dont like little thugs and i dont want them to like me either. dogs stay in the house not the back yard chained to a tree.

Trained or not if your dog is a true example of the breed a good chain set up is the way to go. A dog on the chain does not mean the owner is a dog fighter (dogs dont usually fight while the are on the chain). I dont see alot of people here using 50lb chains either. If you don't understand why dogs are chained you should ask first instead of assuming we don't take care of our dogs or that we are dog fighters. I ASSume its better to leave them in a crate all day. Holding a pup by the scruff of its neck is not gonna kill it, the momma dog does also.

Dogs are property first and foremost, they have NO RIGHTS they are animals NOT people, We hunt them, we show them, we work them, we use them in sports. They do this because THEY WANT TO and we demand it. They get hurt doing their job, sometimes they die, when hunting or sporting, as a WHOLE we are NOT against any type of professional work or job a dog does as so long as its professional, WE DO NOT tolerate nor condone any acts in which a animal is forced or abused to do such any act, but as long as the dog is a willing participant in such activity 'I' see no harm no foul in ANY activity that he so wishes to partake. I'm not for the thug type that put 50lbs chains on their dogs, I'm not for the feeding of gun powder, I'm not for many of the stereotypes that "street dog fighters" are said to do... I'm not for abuse, BUT 'I' see NOTHING wrong MORALY with dog fighting... But I do NOT condone the breaking of the Law, even if I disagree with that Law...

Knowledge is power ! i guess sometimes when we do not educate ourselves when and if needed it makes us throw out opinions that receive harsh receptions !

WB21 - it seems as if you are not in posession ( Property ) of a true APBT, i could be wrong , but before you go on slinging like that , take the time of to feed yourself with the correct info and understanding will follow !

you see when you Output is greater than your Input , your Upkeep becomes your Downfall .

i hope you continue to stay on this forum and interact with its members , see th passion involved , you will speak otherwise unless you are here to just stir things up or fronting !:D:D:D:D

10ft 3/8th chain would weigh about 8 lbs...maNy people here own more than a couple of dogs. Years ago I thought like you did and my dog got loose and I got in trouble..not any more If you know the breed new sir/mam you know they often have high prey drive and were bred not to like other animal dogs etc. Your dogs may and they also may not be bred as many of ours are. If you have a amstaff or a rescue dog they may be easier keepers as they were most likely bred to sell pups or for thier show qualities. As far as dog training I got 2 here that are GCC and I wouldnt trust either loose together in my back yard...if I did my pride and joy x2 would be dead. People like you would call a/c on me and say I am fighting my dogs lolol. You should read the history of the breed ad know the differences between show lines(amstaffs and blue hippos) and the working line of dog the APBT before you pass judgement. We keep our dogs on chains to keep them out of harms way, eachothers way and from harming other thing. See you cant undo 200 yrs of breeding with dog training or a few generations. Throw 20 quacking ducks in front of a black lab bred for hunting...see how that goes. An animal loose next door is the duck and a unchained pitbull is the black lab. The trained pitbull is fine but the animal temepting it is like a loose string on a sweater...it will unravel sooner or later.

Just to further that point of Bobby's a little further using some basic philosophy and an apt analogy.

Take an MMA Fighter. He is trained, prepared and skilled in the art of fighting. He enters into a competition willingly. He has the opportunity to tap out, or exit should he feel he no longer wants to participate.

Take an APBT. He is trained, prepared and skilled in the art of fighting. He enters into a pit willingly. He has the opportunity to cur out, or exit should he feel he no longer wants to participate.

This is an exercise of free will, something god has given us to exercise. Removing ones free will is an immoral and inhumane practise and can be found in two forms; denial of the right to exercise free will; forcing an ideal contradictary to ones free will.

Force an MMA fighter to continue and fight when he doesn't want to = Force of Ideal.
Deny an MMA fighter the right to fight in the first place due to external moral bearing = Denial of free will.

Each is as despicable as their counterpart.

Force an APBT to fight when it doesn't want to = Force of Ideal.
Deny an APBT the right to fight when it wants to = Denial of its right to exercise free will.

Now obviously humans having a higher level of consciousness and cognitive thought have a responsibility to identify if and when a dogs free will is not conducive to its survival.

As long as these rules are adhered to, there is no moral questionability and there is no inhumanity to speak of. The HSUS, Government and others that oppose such practises, are imposing their external moral bearings denying the right of free will.

    Who's the monster?

Every one else has nailed it on the head with their replies. The garbage you just came out with is so ignorant to dogs in general whatever their breed, i dont even want to get involved.

Show me one picture of ANY dog on this forum with a chain rammed up it's neck. :) This forum does not condone dogfighting in any way, shame or form. Read the rules please, before assuming. That's how people get their dogs taken away from them.

As far as pups being held up by their scruff, that's how momma dogs pick them up, discipline them, etc.

First off, your wrong, dogs were domestecated for work! Them being pack animals also made them loyal to us which also gave us companionship yes but the original reason to domesticate dogs was to help hunt amoung other reasons;)
The thick chains you talk about are for, both, the saftey of the public as well as our dogs, you can't very well have them on rope or cable tie outs because they will get loose and now you have a real problem on your hands as do the rest of us that own them and are under the medias microscope, especially within the game lines. With the exception of one person on here, I have never seen ridiculously thick chains on anyones dogs here.:p
Scrufiing is no different than the way a Bitch will carry her own pups, it dose not hurt the dog in anyway. While there may or may not be dogfighters on this site, to talk crap about the people that made your dog what it is today ( I suppose depending on what you have), but for the most part, these dogs are they way they are because of them and if it wasn't for them, you wouldn't own an APBT, seems a bit hypocritical when people come on here talking shit about a group of people that made the dogs what they are today yet they own one of these dogs:rolleyes:
And regardless of what tree hugging hippies seem to think these days DOGS ARE PROPERTY. The only rights animals should have is to bring me pleasure and be on my dinner plate! Read your bible!
on a final note people who dress up their dogs in sweaters and believe all dogs should be lap dogs with no purpose in life other than to be your buddy irrites me!

You must only have one dog, I don't matter how much you train them, you can not train a pointer to not point or a herding dog to not herd or a terrier to not hunt, these are not trained functions, they are instincts that are bedded deep into the genes of any living thing. And most don't use trees to secure their dogs, car axels work alot better:D.
