Yep! My APBT boyfriend! I, myself, actually caught him on a short send on Jay's jacket. Jay's a good friend and I love Ghost to death. He's so fun and such a happy guy, kiss you raw, too...the dog, not Jay, lol.

    Thanks, pitless!

lol That's awesome. I think I emailed Jay once when I was in the market for an APBT for french ring (think he did a breeding with Ghost?). And then of course I got Benny who turned out to be everything I could have asked for, only for free lol

Yeah, he bred Ghost and I guess he produced well. I see Ghost's mom on a regular basis as well, Sickle. She'll eat someone, nasty lil bitch. Steve decoys that dog a lot as well as Ghost. I'd only get a pit from Ghost or a repeat breeding of Ghost. He's a PSA II now.

lol My trainer thinks my dog has that bit of edginess about him as well. Don't get me wrong, he is INCREDIBLY well socialized and outgoing. I've never felt nervous about him out in public, but I've never felt unsafe either...But he does take shit seriously along with his prey drive, and so his end result is going to be a nicely balanced dog. The only thing holding us back in my handling skills, he is so much more dog than I can hold, so our bite work sessions look ludicrous haha

Congrats to him and the PSA II...if your dog can do that sport is capable of any protection sport, that's some crazy work lol. Maybe after titling out Benny I'll get a competition APBT...Leri Hansen in So Cal has some nice dogs doing french ring.

Here we go again. Taking everything in the most dumbassed and self-conscious way possible. Go right ahead, clearly you know all, understand precisely what I said, and somehow think a smiley-face makes one seem lesss of an overly-sarcastic, over-compensating dingbat. Fine.

Now, here's the clear explanation; feel free to take it as you will.
About the ears. In some circles ear carriage is extremely important. Not mine. The dogs I've dealt with over here aren't cropped or docked anyway. So, to me, it is no damned big deal. A whole lot of people put a whole lot of emphasis on determining attitude by reading a dog's ears etc. Fine. To me, as long as the dog is doing the job and loving it, I don't care if he has ears or not. However, were I one of the many breeders states side who place a premium on such things, I would want to know if those ears were (a) a simple posting problem (b) a genetic quirk that manifested itself in an entire litter and could possibly be passed on. (c) a combination of both. What do you think?

As for what what is a disqualification and what is not. Please. Don't you know about all the implants, tattood "pigmentation," fake testicles, and dyed coats rampant in the show game? I sure as hell do. And I do believe I said that if the dog's ear set was costing him cudos he rightly deserved because people were paying more attention to them than to what the rest of the dog was doing in trial, then they are worth it. I am aware of how the game is played and how trivial things can cost you.

Like I said, tail set corresponds to what's going on in the back end. No dog is perfect. Not one. However, I said you have a good looking dog, and the only tail set problem I see is from a lack of muscle over the croup, a slight dip and not so much a deep structural problem.

As for spring-poles and grips. Before we go further, I don't do Dobe any more, and spoke from a Pit Bull point of view. The point of view shared by many I know is that an incorrectly used/equipped spring-pole can sometimes do more harm than good and put a dog at a disadvantage in the "grip" department. Being on a Pit Bull board, and contributing to a question that was raised I offered my point of view from my own limited experience,...as concerns Pit Bull Dogs. The wrong height, the wrong hide and the wrong hardness often contribute to the wrong habits in the working end of Pit Bull dogs. You can talk about genetic grip all you want, give me some nylon rope six feet off the ground, a dog with drive and a week then come back and tell me about "genetic grip."

As for breeding to your dog. Well, I guess we agree on that. The reason would not be because of any important fault in the dog, however. My main problem would be dealing with defensive types who only listen to what they wish to hear and present a STFU and pat my back style. Thanks for the time and understanding;) (Do you think that smiley made me sound like less of an overbearing asshole?)

A lot of pitbulls do really well in sport, if you get one who is calm enough. Believe it or not, it is really the only good thing about the blue nosed dogs. You need to make it out here for the PSA Nationals in Ohio! If you were to by a pit for work, I would only go to Leri or Jay, but I don't know when Jay is going to breed again, if ever. He also has a little red nose who is just nuts, lol, Ox. His drug work was the funniest thing in the world to watch! He picked up the box and took it to Jay for his reward! He's mean in the bitework, too, but I got kissed to death when I was at his house by both Ghost, Ox, and Sickle.

Sounds great! Thanks for a schedule, finally. I'm really excited to do something with my Dobe that no one has really done. Their physique and appearence is expected to be fat and shiny, no tone other than rear end. So, like I said, at a trial, I'm lookin to get a showstopper.
