I might be wrong on this but I think chinaman was tested at Stanford for the fast twitch muscle fiber and lung capacity. I also think that if those same tests were done on some of the good old blood , proven new blood and hell some good ol underground shit chinaman would have been surpassed. Not to take anything away from him but no matter how good the dog there is always a better one out there.JMO

Does anyone KNOW what & where this (Stanford specimen) made his less than 45 min. hunting trips at and who with. I think that a lot of us are saying to ourselfs that " It would take him longer than that to put ole "rover" I owned back in the truck" Don't get me wrong I think he was a Damn good dog, but man there have been some great matches back in the days.

    Go get'em

He passed the natural wind, or th leg swelling!? I'm assuming you mean the wind!

He means DSK Red, had so much wind that when he worked, his legs would swell up, get swollen because he had so much energy in him, his lungs were better then his legs.

No offense Stratos but if you mean Chinaman then i think he could put any dog at his weight "back in the truck" in his time...the dog was a monster and if you read about him you'll see his comp was not to be looked down upon...the only thing that couldve proved him more was if he had a long match...but maybe the fact that he didnt shows just how devastating he truley was..a beast in my book

I am not knocking down Chinaman as a dog. But its amazing how quick some of you are to vouch for a dog, that probably no one in this thread saw in the flesh! I have seen a few dogs over the years that I tought was nothing special, a few years later someone that never saw the dog tells me what a brilliant ace it was. If Chinaman was half as much as they say that would be enough in my book, just telling you to be a bit carefull with these stories.
