Re-Intro

I know many on here know me, but it's been a loooong time since I've hung around here. So I thought I'd give a quick re-intro.

I am "Miakoda"...named after my favorite APBT, that I've owned, of all time. I am a lover and fancier of the APBT in its true form.

I used to have 14 dogs and no 2-legged kids but now have a mere 2 dogs (Coco is 10 and Tar Baby is 6-going-on-7) and 3 2-legged kiddos ages 4, 2, and 3 months.

We have moved and now have 3 1/2 acres which I have lots of plans for. Of course that includes moving my Arab stallion over (Arabian horses are my other love....the APBT of the horse world IMO) and obtaining more dogs in the near future. We just have to get all our fencing completed first.

Ummmm.....not sure what else anyone wants to know, but I'm honest and will answer just about anything if someone wants to know something.

So....glad to be back!

Yay! Mias back.... and down to only 2 dogs?! :eek: That should be a crime! Lol

 

Glad your back and in good spirits! Congrats on the newest 2 legged addition.

 

how was your favorite dog bred again, I remember it being a very nice bred and looking dog

suprised you never got another bred similar or have you?

 

When we started breeding, we kept the resulting pups between family (my brothers) and 2 close friends. To make a long story short, 2 of my brothers chose drugs over dogs and those dogs paid the price (lesson learned for me) and one friend got out of APBTs all together.

My remaining brother still owns either 18 or 19 dogs. 9 or those are the remaining dogs that I bred from a litter in 2002 and the litter in 2004.

We pretty much stuck to the Bolio, Patrick, and Norrod dogs/lines. But my brother branched out and Coco is an old Eli dog and Tar Baby is scatterbred with a bit more Sorrell's influence than anything else (but he was a damn fine hog dog).

And maybe I'm wrong, but you must be thinking of my baby off of Butkus. She was something I'll never forget. **sigh**

And yes, I need some more dogs. But it's kind of an odd situation right now:

We bought my parents home that I grew up in. They continue to live with us, but my dad is dying from advanced stage renal (kidney) cancer that has since spread to his lymphatic system and lungs (& possibly elsewhere...they are at the doctor right now for results from a recent PET scan). My younger brother and his family are also with us until their own house is ready to move into or until I kick them out (guess which one will probably occur first.......).

We have a lot of fencework that needs to be done, especially for the part of the yard I will be using for the dogs. We're going to put up an 8-ft privacy fence around a full acre, but also do a concrete trench to stop any diggers from going under. And then we've got to do some wood slat fencing for the horse.

And to be honest, I just don't have the "start-up" money to get new dogs/pups right now. I don't have anything left that I feel is truly worth breeding, so there is no reason to do one. I'd rather get pups elsewhere at this point. And then we're back at the money issue. :p So it will probably be next year before I bring in a new dog and then we'll go from there. I know where/who I want dogs from....it's just a matter of blinking all cute-like and getting my name on a list. lol
