Its a tough one, Stage is in my name but he was twoyears old when i got with the other half, now hes nearly 7. I think i would take him LOL. How long have you to been together?
But i know for a fact that i would take better care of him, as im the crazy PB lady, hes not into them as much as i am.

Be thankfull its only your dog. A very good friend of mine moved his gf into his house and she paid him small increments of rent to help him pay it off for their future, bought her a new car $30k and they got a rottie as a pet. She left him with pretty much no where to go kept the car[her name] took the dog and three quarters of his bar room[doesntsound like much but he *had* a decent wine collection and plenty of rare spirits] and the bitch made sure she took half his furniture which he had way before she was on the scene. She also demanded he sell his house because half of it was hers since she paid all that rent. she setteled for sixty grand in cash.
We said we would kill her for twenty and he gets to keep the car and the dog and he wouldnt have no bed to sleep on in his own house lol.

Poor bugger gets the dog one weekend a month to spend time with it and he still pays for everything with the dog he has a three acre property and she lives in a one bedroom apt with no yard.

Just give it a couple of weeks and keep a eye on your local classifieds, I'm sure after taking on the responsibility of the dog by her self a little while will change her mind about how bad she wants it, she will either give it back to you or try to sell it....

if you don't mind answering... what is her situation going to be? can she care for the dog and support it financially? If the answer is no, give her a few days and then try to talk to her leaving the emotions out if possible and tell her you just want whats best for the dog and you have the money, time whatever. Emotions run high at the moment you break up- give it a few to cool down, and if you have the dog in your posession, don't give it up- but do bring up the points i mentioned- only give the dog up if you HAVE to and are told by police or whomever you have to do so. . . possession is 9/10ths my friend.

 

i dont know i would try and work it out peaceful first, i agree she is just prob trying to get you where it hurts. if all else failed i would ninja my dog back at any cost. shit if i had to move or keep the dog at a friends till the heat was off i would. you dont fuck with a man and his dog!!!!
