cheers oldguy..and a second ure opinion on pedlers.

 

i dont think much of peddlers either but the hard core reid men havent saved the line so maybe they had a use this time, my point being whys everthing mostly coming through curstopper what happened to the rest of max, hagar and yogies offspring especially when you look at some of the bitches curstopper was put to,its no wonder the lines dieing out

 

why would fur colour be of any importance to a dogman surely the only attributes of a game bred dog would be gameness , bite power , wrestling ability and ring savvy .

 

There's a fair few peddlers in brum. Are you old fellas on about any of the asians or the fat fella who looks like Charlie from eastenders ?

 

Who cares what colour they are or whether they get called Charlie? A peddler is just as happy selling this years fashion Pitbulls to the public as he would be selling fake Louis Vutton handbags to stupid women... Either way his motivation is money... Dog Peddlers are the wriggly tape worms hanging out of a gamedogs shitter and every one of them smells the same to me.

 

becouse it does if u ask me and my expieriences in the reids line that av seen bred and kept its always been the brindles that have been the outstanding ones.and its not just random brindle its certain markings thats with it.traits if u like.

alot of my old pals didn't rate the reid blood they had as they always said skipper was never tested etc and they always looked for the ( what they thought was the ) super imported stuff.

 

yea a herd alot done that and alot of the inports got smashed lol

 

not all of them did reids

 

shame alot never stuck with the reids stuff and allowed them to die out... but thats life i suppose ....you always think the grass is greener on the other side lol

 

oldguy how do you view the man who loves the breed whose read lots but dont want to get above hes station or getting too involved but dont mind having the odd litter that helps out the dogman who originally supplied the pup for just that purposs .

 

Could'nt agree more !! imo it was the peddlers with their cheap ass dogs that were bred any old how, and were affordable for all the scroat bags to own that saw the ban in the first place.As they paraded their nasty dogs in big ornate harnesses in evey town and city.Thing is its still happening today !!!

Some nice brindle Ed Reid dogs.

 

Ed Reid was certainly a puppy peddler, he sold entire litters of puppies, harrnesses, collars etc to the general public via trade magazines like Exchange & Mart and lets be honest, he made a mountain of money doing it... I do believe he always genuinely intended to portray the American Pitbull Terrier in a positive light and he did stand against the media in support of the breed but having said that... He made a fortune selling puppies and THAT IS A PEDDLER!

I saw some very game Wise bred dogs come out of Ed Reid's yard but it was the Skipper dog and his sister Stephie from the Kingfish blood bred by Wesley, Adam's, Stubblefield and Hicks who gave us the great champions sired by Reid's Skipper... These are the dogmen who truly gifted us with Ch.Billy, Ch.Rex, Ch.Dread, Buddy, Ch.Scotsman's and the dogs bred down from them...

The hard work and culling had already been done long before Ed Reid bought Skipper and it was dogmen like the Scotsman, Cooper, Macartney, Northern lad, Redeye, old McPhie, Road warrior, Rayrock and Yarrakin lad who continued that working legacy.

 

I agree 100% IMHO Ed reid got lucky in regard to breeding good game dogs as you say the real work had been done, even today I still don't consider 'reids' a line per say.

I had some reids dogs myself back in the 80's.
