cold dog is a dog in his kennel with no radiators on in winter

 

Depending on where the dog is, not all places get cold during winter.

that's an outright cur. a cold dog is not the same mate.

I had a cold dog once and would describe it as a dog that showed no overt fear or aggression but if it was in a postion where it was shown aggression from something else, it wasn't backing down. in short it didn't go looking for combat but was happy to go toe to toe if confronted. I considered that a cold dog.

Mac's answer may be teqnicly right but in my opinion a dog that is tail tucked scared of his own shaddow is a cur dog not a cold dog. A truely cold dog in my opinion is what I described in my post.
